Rear window checkered flag decal pics???

A friend sent me a link about this pretty cool full-size rear window American flag decal, and tallimeca mentioned that a checkered flag version was also offered, and that he had one on his truck. Here is the link:

Does anyone (tallimeca?have pics of the checkered flag one?

Thanks. Later...

don't bother

i had mine but didn't actually have it on my truck when i posted, i picked it up like two days before. In talking to one of my cop friends, he said to not bother even putting it in because they were nothing but a red flag, especially for trucks like ours, that cops are well aware of. So i returned it and said it didn't fit.....lia-i'm going to hell!!! But the catalog i seen it in had it in a red fl50 and it looks sweet!! If i can find the book, i'll scan it and send it to you. They are pretty expensive. Don't remember exact cost cause i bought some other stuff, but it was damn near close to a hundred bills.Ended up getting ventshades and a bug deflector with the credit. I didn't want to put a deflector on, but so many landscaper and commercial guys dropping **** on the road around hear, your hood gets scratched to hell if you don't. It looks pretty good actually. I took pictures of my L all spiffed up, i'll post em soon.

try this: http://www.glasscapes.com/

so far (knock on wood) I have had no trouble with the cops. Of course, my team handles all of the Henrico county (where I live) cop cars that come through the dealerhship, so I try to remember all the names I can. Plus my girlfriend has two cops for older brothers, so don't think I'm not prepared to start dropping names if I get pulled

I don't know what everyone's local laws are, but here in Virginia, this is totally legal. If you have two side mirrors then you don't need a rear view mirror (or window etc.). you can paint your back glass black or cover it up with plywood if you wanted to, just so your two sides are there. Think like a delivery truck or 18wheeler, they don't have a rear view do they?

later,
chris

Word to the Wise....

As Superfords stated, these are legal in many cases. I can't speak for all states, but the last I checked with the state police they are 100% legit in VA.

I saw on another thread about some putting these over their trim. The concerns voiced about the black dots hold true unless your truck gets very little exposure.

They are also slow to remove on trim. Be patient if you do it or otherwise you will scratch up your trim.

If you really want to cover the trim, here's a trick. Get everything good and clean. Con the local sign shop into selling you a little bit of clear vinyl. Place this over the trim first, then apply the one way graphic over it. This will offer additional UV protection, and you can wax the decal and clear vinyl without it getting on the trim. When you get tired of the graphic it will also be easier to remove, since the clear will be a solid layer that won't tear as easy.

Got it

I've got the checkered flag banner on my rear window. They are not illegal. I will try to post some pics on Sunday. Paid $89 from JC. Whitney a few months ago and have a split rear window. I covered the black trim above and below the window also. It looks awesome IMO. The only thing some people might not like about them is that when they get wet they suck to see out of, especially at night. The little pores fill with water and distort the view. When it is dry it is basically the same as having a Dark Tint on the rear window. If anyone wants a pick e-mail me. Ken5083@excite.com

illegal

i never said they were illegal, i just said they were a red flag, meaning if you fly by a radar cop 10 over the limit, they may be inclined to have a reason to stop you because you may be doing something they can't see......like the ricers with the heavy tint. You people here in mass know about the NH staties.....my buddy got pulley over in his cougar by a NH statie for having his rear window tinted too dark. Don't feel like getting pulled everytime i run up to Hampton Beach.
