I got my *** handed to be today by a Z06 off a light.

I can't WAIT for the damn intercooler to get fixed next week so I can drop in the go fast goodies.

Man...not only was he behind me, but with me at WOT off the green, he had enough juice to go AROUND me and pass me, it was dispicable!

I cannot let this happen again.

Heh, yeah, plus he was up against a now even more then stock (aka, no coolant in charge-air cooler) heavy *** beastie. (truck weight well over 5k).

I have no fear, by the end of November I will be much more suited to handle such events. :-)

You would have to put in more money than your truck is worth to beat a Z06! The 2002's ARE out and they are the fastest 'vette ever made. The guy in the 'vette was probably playing with you! If he was serious you wouldn't even post the race because there wouldn't have been one!..............But I love my Lightning. It beats most cars on the road but not all of them!

Would someone please tell me what a Z06 is?

 

Cablebandit handed me my 'adze' Fri. nite. I had him 'til just beyond the 1000' marker-2-3 car lenghts, and then he blew by me in his turboed 2000 WS6. At the 1/4, he had a 12.886@ 114 to my 13.0xx@105(time slips are in the L). If it was a 1000' race, I woulda 'killed' him! LOL

Yes they are.............if you see a BLUE one, it's an '02, and you guys are right............it does have 405 HP............that is a nasty freeking Vette................I was at the track early this year, when it was actually a decent temperature down here in FLA, and I saw a guy run mid 11's with nothing done, but a 100 shot added to a stock one, and that was a 385 HP Z06..........

so yeah............they do kick ***..........

For less then 5,000 you can get your Lightning to run 12's, so that statement isn't quite right. You would see it at E-Town this weekend. Like JDM's 11.83 without nitrous, or sals 11.63 with the gas.

The Z06 is definately a nice car though, but for 20,000 more then my Bolt, it better be quicker.

I know, I know how fast these things are.... But i recently got a ride in a friend's 2002 Z06. And yes, it was fast, but i didnt really think it was 'that' fast. He took it up to 100mph and I really wasnt that impressed. Handles like a go-cart though.

 

Rebelyell: A Z06 is a high-performance limited edition corvette. About 40 more horsepower than a standard corvette. They started making them in 2001 i believe. The 2002's have about 60 hp more than a standard vette.

 

I can beat Z-06's all day long in my stock vehicle.*
