Hi. I live in Birmingham, AL. I visited Town & Country Ford, talked with Adamson Ford and all would not give me X-Plan price even though I can get pin through my spouse. Obviously they want to get max price for vehicle but I thought the X-PLan covered all Ford vehicles and it wasn't up to the dealer's discretion to not accept it. Has anyone had any trouble getting this deal? Does anyone have any info on 2002 changes like color, $$$, options, delivery date, etc. If this has already been discussed, my apologies please link me to the thread. Thanks.

 

They can turn you down if they want to. According to the X plan paper work the Dealer has the right to deny anyone X plan price for what ever reason he wants. If you want to drive down to Pascagoula Ms. about 3 hours south of you, the Estabrook dealer will give you X plan no problems. Call them and ask for Buck and tell him the Ivan sent you. If your looking at a truck at your dealer he can most likely get that truck for you, You can come down and do all the paper work and just pick up the truck on your way home. Buck will take care of you. This is his number 228-762-2641 Also if you live outside of the city limits up there you will save over 850.00 dollars because if you buy out of state you only have to pay state tax no city.

 

With lightnings i beleive it is up to the dealer.This holds true for cobras also. When i bought my 00,i had to pay full sticker because they were more in demand.lower build #s and the economy was better.Now all the local dealers will take x plan and one local dealer sold there last six 01s to a dealer in san antonio ,texas. You could do a search for ford dealers that are close enough to your area that sell svt and find one that will do x plan.The only difference in the 02's are white is gone and dark blue is in.

Will Buck and his gang give me X-plan deal on a 2002 SVT Lightning or just 01's that they have on lot??? That would be good. The dealers up here in Bham will not even let me test ride the thing and the sales people say that they haven't even been in one. Yeah, right! They probably take every one out for lunch that comes in on the semi.

BTW, I grew up in Mobile, went to school at Baker High School (near the airport). My folks still live down there. It would be no trouble to take a road trip and check things out. Where are you at? Native of Mobile?

I called around. Found a couple within reasonable driving distance and asked if they would X-Plan. Found a couple that would (Gene Evans - S. of ATl is in your direction. Also someone mentioned driving to Columbus from Montg). Get that dealer to fax you a quote for X-Plan. Take that to the dealer in question and say "I am getting this truck, and I am getting it at this price." If they say no, go get it at that price. I'd hate to have to drive any distance, but if they want to be stubborn (sp) about it, then it's worth the drive. You're saving ~$3,000!

 

Shop around and don't be afraid to travel for a good price. Definitely, DO NOT PAY STICKER! I traveled from Dallas, TX to Baton Rouge, LA to get my L at X-plan price. Not a dealer in DFW would budge under sticker. It cost me $100 to get there and $100 to get back.....worth every penny.

 

X-Plan on 2002's????

 

Michael, Buck will be glad to give you X on a 2002 if you want to order one and if you do it now you can take advantage of the intrest rates. You just can't beat that. I don't think I saw any L's on his lot when I passed by yesterday but there may have been one in the showroom, anyway if you really want a truck he can get you one. He just located 2 black ones for a good friend of mine yesterday and is going to get him one this weekend for X plan. Just call him and tell him Ivan sent you, leave your number if you have to and let him call you back but don't talk to anyone else.

 

I didn't think you could get these financing rates on 02. You can't take delivery untill ~March?

 

Can someone fill me in on the special financing/interest rates deals that's going on right now? I would want 48 mo. term.

 

0.0% - 36mo
0.9% - 48mo
2.9% - 60mo

Thru Oct 31st (Must take delivery) ????

I might give him a call tomorrow or early next week. It seems the special financing will not fly with the 02's. I really would like the X-Plan with 0.9%/48mo.

 

They told my buddy he could have the financing on a 2002 if he would sign the papers on an order, but that is up to you. I wouldn't care unless you just want a blue one or something. Anyway if I were you I would call the man don't just rely on what you hear from us, we might be wrong and if they want to sell a truck they may do whatever you want. Good Luck

 

I talked over the phone with Buck and another guy(keith I think). They said that financing on the '02 would be:

0.0:36mo
2.9:48mo
4.9:60mo

They didn't seem to think that I could place an order on an '02 until they knew if Ford was going to produce an '02 and they could get one. Duh!

They sound like they could work with me on the '01 though but hesitated on the '02. Buck sounded cool and willing to help out and Keith? was going to check on the '02 thing. Will see how things work out. Thanks for your help.

BTW, what's in all this for you. You just like helping people into an SVT Lightning or just a nice guy? Hope all works out in any case.
