Gear heads- ft/lb-in/lb conversion question
I need to torque bolts on tranny accumlator to 80-100 in/lbs but only have a foot lbs torque wrench.
Does anyone know how to convert or tell me the foot lbs?
Thanks!

The conversion factor is:
Inches to feet: divide the number by 12. For instance, the truck bed on the Lightning is wide enough to hold a sheet of plywood which is 48 inches wide. If you want to convert that to feet, divide it by 12 or multiply it by 1/12 (48 inches x 1 ft/12 inches) and you get 4 feet.
Feet to inches: multiply the number by 12. Using the example above, if the plywood is 4 ft wide, it's 4 ft x 12 inches/ft = 48 inches.
Using your example:
84 in-lbs x 1 ft/12in = 7 ft-lbs (you're just dividing by 12)
96 in-lb x 1 ft/12in = 8 ft-lbs
