Torn on pullies
Just want to poll the "audience". I currently have the PSP 2-3 lb lower pulley. I want to go with more boost...so do I get the LFP upper pulley to compliment the PSP lower, or go with the JL 4lb lower with no upper? Is the LFP really a 2 lb pulley (someone stated on another thread it was only 1 lb)? Thanks for any responses.
I think I was the one that said it was a 1#. I bought it from LFP and have been told by several people that it was a 2# pulley before buying it. But upon having the lower installed in Ennis by JDM, Shawn stated that in fact it was only a 1#! After looking at the upper on JDM's truck, it was obvious his was quit a bit smaller than the metco I have. His upper is a 2#! I firmly believe JDM knows what they're talking about. Just relaying the info. I was told......hope this helps.
FWIW-I did notice a 1.5# increase with the upper. My boost gauge use to only run up to 8.5 lbs. After the upper it went right up to the 10 lb. mark, but never right on it or past it. Now with the lower installed, it goes past the 10 lb. mark into the black!
Go with the lower pulley. If you add a smaller upper pulley, you will loose some belt to pulley surface area, and inviting the risk of slippage into the picture.
Bigger pulley down low only add more belt/pulley surface. Hope this helps.

I have the LFP upper and I don't believe it is 2# as advertised!! When I went to the JL 4# with the stock size upper the truck felt stronger than the 3# with the advertised 2# upper!! Take Spiro's advice and go bigger on the bottom!

Wow! Thanks for all of the replies. It looks as if I am going to have to get in touch with JL (again)! My main concern was building up too much heat or over-spinning the blower, and with the upper I could replace it to the stock piece for every day driving. I guess I could get the 4 pounder and use the upper for just strip action.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
