SVT Expedition?

Working in the Dearborn, MI area, you get used to seeing numbers of Ford prototypes and concept vehicles driving around. As a recent '01 L buyer, this one REALLY caught my attention. A black Expedition SUV in full SVT trim! It was pulling out of one of the Roush buildings. Front end, wheels and even the trademark exhaust were visible. No clear tail lights though. It had manufacturer plates on it and looked like a complete production vehicle (no front end masks, cladding, mismatched panels, etc). When the driver got sight of me in my L, and also noticed when I came to a complete stop to look at it, he gave me a little grin and a wave and then he was gone. I have to start carrying a camera with me!

There is one on SVT's website, but it says no plans for production.

There's only one. There will be only one.

I've already asked the SVT guys for dibs on it...

SVT Expedition?- Part II

They must have put '01 wheels on it then. The one at svt.ford.com shows '99-'00 wheels. Now all I need is a wrecked Lightning and 2WD Expedition and I can build my own.
