Thumbs up Truck-Traks Rule.....

Ok, me and Jay just installed those Truck-Traks on my L... Let me tell you this I can just jam on the pedal at a stand still and I can feel them jerking the rear end downward, Adds a hell of a lot more to that "seat-of-the-pants" feel. Almost all tirespin is eliminated through these bars (or almost no tires break loose at a standstill on the street). The second I jumped on it I knew I made great purchase! Thanks Jay! I will see what difference they make out at California Speedway this weekend, I will post my timeslips showing proof. If you can get your hands on these, GET SOME!

Thumbs up

They are a great product, have had mine installed for a couple of days now and can't believe the difference in traction.

I wrote my thoughts on them here:

Question

How do they effect cornering?

Very Nice I must say. Simple, effective, and not too expensive. Wonder how they would work with a 150 shot at Launch

Cool Cornering

I noticed with cornering I can accelerate earlier in a turn and not completely loose the back end like I use to. The back end just squats down and pushes you around the turn, or so it feels that way. I'm also gonna test how they work with NOS because i'm getting myself a fogger set up from So Cal speedshop next month.

Hey Daniel,

Looks like they're going to have a track day in the Poconos Oct 13 and 14. Some of my friends and I are planning to go on Sunday the 14th.

If you get the traction bars, we're going to miss you smokin' the tires out of the last corner at the Pallisades auto-x. My friends love it when you do that I'll assume you'll be there for the Oct 7 event?

Yep mine feel the same way in the corner. This morning to test cornering I did a hard 45 degree turn while accelerating and felt the tires spin slightly, but the rearend would have swung wide in the same situation without the bars, as experience would show in the past .

Sweet, I'll look foward to Oct 13/14. Somewhere around here I'm supposed to get my truck fixed for the IC, dunno if it is going to interfere with any of the events, hopefully not. :)

Heheh, as for the smokin the tires. ;) I'll miss the crowd reactions too, but it will definately help reduce my lap time! heheh... Its always a crowd pleaser, but ususally costs me a few hundreths of a second each time.

the pawn:

One of the reason's that I built this type of traction bar, is that I like to drive the local mountain roads. This type of traction bar is pretty forgiving, bcause it won't steer the truck as much during cornering.

There is clearance between the snubber and the spring that won't close up until you turn pretty sharply. It will help you get the power down coming out of a turn, because the snubber is hitting the spring as you corner, and won't let it wrap up.

If you are used to hard corner carving, you will notice one difference. If you get on the power too soon exiting the corner, these bars have a tendency to push the truck straight. You can compensate by just going harder into the turns, braking later, so that you exit in a straighter line. It works, as I have adaped to them easily.

Spiro: I sent a set to Sal for evaluation. He said that he would try them out on a customer's truck. Hopefully, it will be a very powerful one, so I can get an indication of how they perform when pressed.

Also, it will be nice to test them on a good track. Our's out here don't have very good traction.

Mine will be on the way soon.....

Last nite I ran a 1.943 sec. 60' and a 13.032@105.77 in the 1/4. The new trak-trucks should help bring the 60' time down leading to my first 12! Thanks Jay-----Dan

There is an adjustable snubber, I believe there are 3 positions you can put it in.
