Help! Intercooler Fiasco!

last week, i took my truck to the dealer that i bought it from (1.5 hours away) to have several things done to it under warranty.
most important of all was the intercooler "fix"

it has now been 8 days since i dropped it off.
the service advisor said that ford denied my i/c fix, because i brought it in before the TSB was released! WTF?
i printed out pictures, wrote down part numbers, gave them campaign numbers and names to techs on the hotline.

what am i supposed to do? i need a vehicle to get to work!
the dealership i bought the truck from doesn't give out loner vehicles. they said that they only give out loner vehicles to people that buy extended warranties.
i thought i had every base covered, but as my luck would have it, i get fubar'd every time. @$#%

HELP!

Nice logic, Ford! Let's see, the way I have it figured, there would have never been a TSB if owners HADN'T complained about the defect in the first place. Can you spell "Catch 22?"

These guys must be sniffing brake cleaner.

They need to talk to that Jake Doss guy. He seems to be "the" Lightning guy at the tech line.

I checked with my service advisor last week when someone posted that the I/C fix was now a TSB - he pulled up my VIN in OASIS and there it was, front and center.

I dont know how they can deny a claim because you are a responsible owner. Maybe you should have waited for your engine to drink all that coolant before you brought it in.

Good luck CT. I have taken my truck to the dealship I bought it at many a time. 3 hrs away and gotten it back on the weekend (only time I was available to make the drive) only to find a slip of paper reading

"Normal Operation"
"Within spec."
"Drove similar vehicle same operation"

Now wouldn't that just frost you mother's perserves?

Once again
Good luck
Jimmar

98cobra: my truck has been leaking for the last 10000 miles.. it drank 1/2 of the coolant on the 1.5 hour drive over there..

i just called SVT and they told me of a new person to get in touch with.. Robin Curry @ the tech hotline.. he has the new info.

ic leak

just bought my L used..2000 model. No signs of leaking, but the truck wasn't driven much by the previous owner, now i'm starting to accumulate miles...just under 3k. If if there is no leaking, will my truck be included in the new quiet recall program i've been hearing about. Most trucks don't start leaking till around 7k according to blue oval news and other sites.

Talking hp increase...

clonetek...you will like the power increase you experience when you upgrade the intercooler.....It is more efficient as the heat exchanger function improves...

Hello Brooks,

I second Jim's comments..time to come for a fix and visit. Baby Jake will keep you in "refreshments" while you wait for the work to be completed. Mine was done in a day....and runs great!

Then J-Man, Baby Jake, Reality1 and self will escort you to the track for a T&T We are going to the track this Friday night if the weather cooperates...come on up

...Dwight...

Go to another dealer. Don't let this dealer **** on you. It's that simple.

Clear as day - they have to give you a loaner car. No doubt. It's literally in the sales brochure, too. Push on this one.

He doesn't have an '01. He doesn't qualify for this.
