Brake Overheating Problems?

I went out for a little joy ride the other day through some nice hilly roads in the Bay Area. (If anyone lives in the East Bay or Bay Area Ca and wants to go for some Joy rides, please email me - I know a lot of nice backroads) One road inparticular I like to play on (Near Altimont Pass) crests at about 600 ft or so then descends down fairly steep. Anyway - I was able to get up to about 100 a few times before I was HARD on the brakes. Once I reached the bottom I smelled my brakes and they seemed to have faded a little bit. I only have 1000 miles on my L so far and was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar and/or if this is normal for new brakes or for Lightnings in general. Thanks in advance.

Yep, brakes are working perfectly. Two 70-0's pretty much kill the brakes (for a few minutes).

Brake Overheating

Hmmm, this could be a problem as I prefer backroad driving to dragging and all my favorite roads have hills. Anyone know of brake pads that are significantly better than stock?

Yep, the brakes pretty much suck. Brembo, Baer, and now Stillen offer upgrades. Big $$.
