Unhappy say a prayer...

for my truck.. just dropped it off in shreveport (1.5 hours away) to have the new & improved intercooler put in.
also having plugs, o2's and cats checked.
all 4 of my rims were peeling, and/or pitting.
rear diff seal looked like it was leaking, and rusting.
drivers side door is cracking, asked about doing something to the passenger side to prevent it from cracking.

hopefully it'll be back by the end of the week..

oh, no joyriding in my truck either.. 1/4 tank of gas and a locking gascap.. they'll have to call me to get the key. LOL

Good Luck brooks.

I need to get mine in for the door crack too!

Hey since that has a TSB on it, it doesn't matter how many miles you have or does it. I'm at like 35,770 right now.

Question

Hello Brooks,

My black beast also went to the dealer for the upper intake, new style intercooler, plugs (I supplied a set of NGK TR-6), O2 sensors, compression check, complete brake job w/rotors (I supplied front NAPA ceramic pads)...all under warranty......GREAT DEALER!
We shall see how it runs when I get back??!!

Cheers,

...Dwight

Add me to the list, I just dropped my truck off at the dealership at 7:45 this morning for the intercooler leak. The service write up guy had no clue what i was talking about. he says "inner cooler?"
no, inTERcooler. "Oh, whats that?" Its for the supercharger. "what, you got that thing turbocharged?, sorry i'm a chevy guy, this is my 4th day here"
God help me and my truck

I don't feel so bad; I just had a service person come out to look at my clothes washer and he said he needed to come back when he had his repair manual.

Good luck with your shop work. Last time I hung around the delearship and found 4 guys revving it up in the shop just to hear the air filter and headers. I blew past the service manager and asked them WTF! One of them had the ***** to say he was going to take it for a test drive. I asked him (not so nicely) why he needed to do that when all he did is hang a new ground effects panel on the side?

The general mgr. was handing me free ***** and service coupons in no time.

logical: i get 11mpg in my truck.. they could have fun, but they would have to tow it back. lol!

big d: i have a set of ngk plugs here, but i didnt think they would put them in for me.
oh well, i'll have to learn how to change them some time. might as well be now.

the lady that took my info had never heard of the door cracking problem, or the intercooler problem..
i offered to take her to their own used car lot & show her some cracks, but she declined.

she did tell me that the last lightning they had in, had the rims/tires stolen off of it. i think they were aftermarket ones tho..

also gonna have them check the wiper motor....

Talking

Hello again Brooks,

Not only is the mechanic installing the TR-6 plugs I furnished instead of the Ford plugs and gapping them to my spec (.044), but he is also installing my (NAPA) ceramic brake pads in the front, instead of the Ford parts when replacing the failing brakes!

Maybe you should come and stay with us when you need warranty service?????....we serve refreshments while you wait....and Baby Jake will partake with us also

Now, if the planes fly tomorrow, and I can get home...maybe my truck will be ready on Thursday....want to race??? Oops, I need to wait for the reburn on my chip...hurry Sal...Nan sent chip today, but who knows when it will arrive at PSP with the events of today

Not really. Of course it depends on the dealer. SVT swears they will help you out in your time of need even after the warranty is up due to the overwhelming response of the problem. Of course this has yet to be seen and we'll know soon.

You should call Ford and document this, and then go to your dealer and document it as well.
