Awesome Pics (must see!)

These are pics of my new 555 cubic inch Reher-Morrison engine in my race car. On it's first dyno pull, it made 914.7 hp @ 6800 rpm, and 739.2 ft/lbs @ 5800 rpm. This was the first pull, without the vac. pump & dry sump on. It should be @ 1000 hp now.

By the way, the engine was run up to 9500 rpm on the dyno w/ no problems...you too can have one for $22,000. I'll be testing next week...7.xxx

**The pics are several reply's down in this thread, as attachments. Sorry, I suck with computers**

Sounds like you got a deal. Any engine that makes that much power and will stay together at 9500rpms + is usually over 30 grand.

Yeah, I wasn't actually there for the 9500 rpm pull, but Wes, my represenative at R-M, says that they rev every "super-series" engine that high once...if there's any problems than they start over. After the 9500 rpm pull, they still put 1 more hour on the engine with no problems whatsoever. Wes says thats standard operating procedure for the big-cube motors

This thing is stout, I can't wait until next saturday for testing

"914.7 hp @ 6800 rpm, and 739.2 ft/lbs @ 58 rpm. "

Wow, that's a ton of power for only 58 rpms Hehe

Do you really think that 7s are doable with that power? Only reason I ask is because my best friend up here has an 86 Mustang with a 551 that makes 924 hp and 770 tq, and he's going 8.70s. If you look at the Pro-5.0 cars, it takes about 1500hp to get into the 7s. What has your car run previously and with what powerplant?

My old combo was a 427. Rect. port heads, hyd. roller cam, Weiand single plane intake, BRT tuned dominator, Turbo Action 'glide (1.76 1st), 5000 rpm stall, 4.56 geared 9-inch, 32" Goodyear's. It was a pretty mild S/G combo. My best slip was 1.349 '60, 5.986 1/8, 9.395 @ 142.22 1/4. I'll post the slips and new dyno graph when I get to a scanner.

The car has a full tube chrommoly chasis (cert. to 7.50), 4-link, Hal coilovers on all corners, wilwood brakes, all fiberglass body, sheetmetal interior. W/ the iron-headed engine, it wieghed just under 2200 lbs. the body style is an 81 camaro, the year I was born (yep, I'm only 20 ).

Along with the new engine, we dropped in a Hughes 'glide (much stronger than the old one), and a Hughes 5800 rpm stall. I know of several other people running this engine (except for the vac. pump and dry sump) in dragsters, and they have run as low as 7.30. The this car hooks, I feel 7.8x or 7.9x should not be a problem. We may try a gear/tire change, depending on how testing goes. The goal is to get out of S/C and run in an altered class (probablly econo altered).

I've got a track rental coming up in October at G-ville raceway if anyone is interested in coming, as well as being in the Super Chevy show that month. I'll post dates soon.

I know this is long, but I'm going to give a shameless plug to my 2 sponsors:
Re-Runz Classic Car Restorations
Write Medical Technologies.......Thanks

I don't think it will take .bmp's. You'll have to open it up and then "save as" a .jpeg. Then when you post a reply in the bottom there's an attach file window to upload a .jpeg file. You browse to find the pathway to it then type your message and "submit and that should be it. Thus:
