Lexus IS 300 Owner on Here???
I was looking up Lexus SUV's for my mother awhile ago...well I came across those IS 300's. I will be damned if I aint thinking of trading my L in on one. Ive actually been thinking of trading my L in for awhile now for a variety of reasons. I know someone on this board has one...cant remember who though. So I'm asking that person for their thoughts on the car...I know everyone will say keep the L but I want some feedback from the owner of the IS 300 on this board. Thanks...Brent
When ur comparing a Lightning to an IS300, you're comparing apples and oranges. The IS300 is a BMW 3 Series wannabe, and a pretty good one at that. The Lightning is a bad a-- muscle car which also handles very well. But if ur looking for a Lightning experience in a different package, the IS isn't it
I agree IS's are really slow. My buddy has one, its not a bad car, looks cool interior is cool, but there is no power. The car will not get out of its own way. I think a lot of disappointment would come from driving the IS after driving a L, and 32,000 is too much money to spend for dissapointment.
Just my .02.
Just my .02.
I just gave my IS300 to my daughter in NC. I bought it when they first came out. Its a great car (and cool looking...yellow) but not very fast, and hard to handle in snow. If u like lots of power, stick with the L. I also have a BMW 330xi, which is lots quicker, but not nearly as cool as either the IS or the L, but it really sticks to the road in the winter with the all wheel drive and electronic stability system. You have to decide what matters most to you.
Cool car, but...
I have been driving an extremely bright yellow IS300 for a few months now, and I absolutely love the car. As a former import lover, I adored the characteristics of the IS300. It can be best described as different. It is unlike any other car on the market, and that is what helps make it so cool. That, and having a yellow one attracts a great deal of attention. I have driven all of the other cars in its class, but none of them have the flare and style of the Lexus. Don't get me wrong, the BMW's and other cars are equally impressive in their own light, but they can't stand up to the reliabilty of a Toyota and the appeal of the car. However, like everyone else has mentioned, it completely lacks the raw power of an L. I would keep my IS or a long time, but I drove an L last week and it stole my heart. Beside, my brother and law works at the dealer, thus I can get one a A-plan pricing. So anyone that is interested, I am selling my car for $30,500 with all options and only 7.5k on it. I can email pics to all who are interested.
