I have A 2001 that does the same. I have 4500 miles on mine and it will barely chirp the tires from a dead stop but it will run like a scalded ape, so I don't complain much.

I think we need to give some power braking lessons I have no problem smokin' the tires on my L!! If I do it right I can smoke them for up to 50 feet. Its all about brake to pedal compensation, if you feel the rev limiter coming, let off of the brake slightly and you will smoke them till the cows come home and miss the limiter.

I am guilty of spinning the tires myself a time or two. However at $300 a tire I try to limit it as much as possible. After all, you leave the line alot quicker when your not spinning. I do understand the urge to showoff. Somebody said 20 points on the tread compound don't amount to much, but I disagree. My 00' hooks up much better with the new compound. I can still spin them easily, but I don't find myself driving 3/8 of a mile in a 1/4 mile span anymore. Meaning that it used to spin so much that I was all over the road steering the beast like I was going through a slalom. Let it break in, buy a chip, spin the tires for the first couple of weeks just to get it out of your system, and than think of every 5 seconds of spinning your tires as someone taking $20 out of your pocket. Believe me, in no time you'll be asking everyone where to buy Caltracs and how the heck you can get your beast to hook-up. Congratulations on getting the best bang for the buck automobile in the world and welcome to our humble board. P.S. I hope you got Red. It is the quickest color, and if you have another color it would explain why you can't spin your tires
