The our having a bigger motor thing has me confused. Us-331ci. them-360ci. There's a cool R/T owner in my town. He has a black one and everytime he puts a new mod on it he comes and finds me and asks me to run. I always do it out of the kindness of my heart. He's yet to beat me, but I'll have to admit the NO2 got him within 3 truck lengths. He has a great attitude, always says he'll be back after spending his next paycheck on mods. Gotta respect someone with a sense of humor.

We also have pretty cool R/T owners. They can't beat the L's around here so they just tell us there gonna trade it in for a Viper to kick the **** out of our Cobras and Vettes. I just laugh. They at least understand it all in good fun and use each other to tune there trucks. I agree some people are just to thick headed and needed to relax.

Oh, he also says his R/T is faster than most all 99+ GT's.. including mine. lol

Dude, you are lying, so is Coolva! No one said ANY of that stuff you are saying and that is what pisses me off! Hope Clonetek has a bit more respect than that towards me (Truckster on MoparChat) Than to believe that crap. get over and off yourselves!!!!

Brian

I'd just like to add, I thought all this internet stuff was in good fun myself. I applaud the L owners that went over to moparchat for being so damned civil! I think it's all in fun, we're all the competition. No one should take anything on the internet too serious BTW, I don't drive an R/T, i drive a 84 S-10 with a transplanted and modified 350 (well 355 now ) It gives new meaning to scary LOL.

It'ds a 350 bored 30 over, heads, edlebrock Intake, mild cam, bigger valve springs, stouter internals, long tube headers going into basically no exhaiust, to be remedied pretty soon This is backed by a Turbo 400 3 speed auto, a 3.42 rear, and the stock limited slip (yuk!) I haven't had t to the track yet, so i will not even venture what it will run. i don't want to run until the exhaust is done and i get the T-bars on. love the sleeper effect Here is a pic of the motor for ya :

Coolva, be insulting all you want, it won't change the fact you bald face lied. my problem with you isn't that you defend the lightning, put that you always put Dakotas down.

SawZall, hey, i made no claims, made no challenges, and i won't either. So, the point of your post was what again?

All this talk about the r/t's makes me want to ......er nevermind. I was thinking about going to another board that supports some other trucks and talking smack. But then I started to think, why talk, when I can whip those r/t's like a red headed stepchild. (Gator apologizes to ALL red headed board readers, Lightning owners or not):o

I just jumped into this thread to ask if you had to beef up your front suspension to handle all the extra weight from the smallblock. Is it a handfull on hard cornering. I had a 99 S-10 that I was going to put a ZZ4 in; but, got the L instead.

BadBolt - I don't know how it is with the S-10, but when I was researching putting a 5.0 in a ranger(2wd), the 5.0 block was about 100lbs more then the 2.3L, and it it would have lowered the front end 1". So what most people did was get front springs from a 2wd lift kit that would raise it up normally 1" to make for up for the 1" drop.

I have been over at moparchat.com talking with those R/T guys, they are pretty cool!! One guy is trying to tell me that R/Ts are more rare than Ls, I don't know how true that is, never researched it, but I know when you order a Dakota online, Dodge gives you an option to add an R./T package. Ford doesn't offer that, you buy an L when one comes available. I Dunno, sounds fishy to me.LOL!
