OK. Here's the skinny. I work at a Ford dealer. Got the info this morning and gave it to Andre. It is a fix not replacement of the same intercooler. It is avalible I have one under my desk. It is a good looking part. It is a upper intake with cooler attatched and a gasket set. They are on short supply at this time. Did not have a chance to call Ford today about warranty coverage but will try tomorrow and update. Yes if dealer told you they installed update before today they did not!!! I have been watching this very closely and this is the first and only update.

Guys, I have a 2000 L with a little less than 4000 miles. Of course mine does not leak, yet. I am not at all happy about the way this has been handled by Ford. It is so stupid to wait until it leaks and damages the motor to do this fix. I am going to do everything I can to get mine fixed before it starts leaking. This is in Ford's best interest too, because it will be a hell of alot cheaper to fix mine before it leaks than to risk a whole new engine. FORD, are you paying attention???

If this is true, I have to commend SVT. I figured they would all just leave us all out to dry. I have only 7K miles on my L so mine isn't leaking yet but the only problem is that if it does start to leak I am going to have to take three days off work in order to put my L back to stock!!!

Need valid part # for IC Fix

My dealer says that is not a valid part # (XL3Z 9424 AB).
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks!

For some reason, I find all this haed to believe. Especially when Ford doesn't even acknowledge that there is a problem!

Sorry you find it hard to believe but it is a fact. We now have several in stock. First one will be installed tomorrow. I know a lot of people post things on this board that are not verified but I do not.

Have heard of other dealers that have said it is not a goos part #. Don't have # at home will check tomorrow and post if the # you have is wrong.

Talked to Ford the other day. They said an owner notifacatoin would be coming out sometome in the next several months. At this time repair will not be covered if out of warrany and will only be replace after ONP comes out if leaking. If IC is replaced before ONP comes out (when it does) refunds will be given.

Mine just started leaking about 400 miles ago. I went to the dealer and talked to them for the first time about this. I had to put the dye in to check for the leak. Will go back in a couple days and have them check. The dealer asked me if there was a TSB# or a SSM# for this Intake Kit. And is this a good part # or not . Thanks for any help.
