Go to a store that sells them and have them look it up. The same on that fits the 00 and 99 will work with the 01. I'd tell you the #, but I pitched my K&N box.

K&N's part number is DIFFERENT for the 2001 Lightning replacement filter. It's 33-2140-1 While the 99-00 is 33-2140

www.knfilters.com

Most places do not stock this filter. Best place to buy is at a large online store. www.summitracing.com has them in stock.

I went to 3 auto places and they said there is no listing for an '01 Lightning. I just went with the 99-00 filter part # because i figured they were the same. Oh well, if it's the wrong one, ill just take it back.

For all those interested, I just matched my stock '00 filter with my stock '01 filter. They are exactly the same and my '01 filter fit perfectly into my old stock '00 air box.

I had to do some triming on my K&N to get the top air box to fit properly! Called K&N and they said some of the air boxes are from different suppliers and are just a little tighter fit than others!!WTF? Where the top half slides into the bottom half two slits, I just trimmed the thin piece of rubber at top of filter and it fit fine.
If you have one of these "other" air boxes, you'll see what Im talking about when ya drop the K&N in there.
