I have 15,000 miles on my Toyo's Proxes. They are twice the tire the F1's are. I get the same 2.00 60' times at the track I got with the F1's, much better in the wet (all you hear is the loud noise of water being thrown against the inside of the wheel wells when running this tire in heavy rain) much quieter ride when its dry, and @15,000 miles it looks like they will go another 20,000 miles!!! Discount Tire ordered them for me at $210.00 each, I think.

COBURN

If they are the acron style (tapered at the wheel side and domed at the other end) you can get them at Discount Tire.

Toyo's were cheaper then the F1's when I bought them. I like the Toyo's better.

You said earlier you would like Michelin Pilots. If you would settle for a lower profile I know for a fact that they have 295/35 ZR18's. A local tire shop tried to pass them off on me as the correct size. I only wanted 2 tires or else I might have went for it.

Nitto drag radial's were supposed to be out, but Nitto is stating the fall now. It would be nice to have a set of Drag Radials for the street.

I may just switch over to 16" rims all of the around, since that is what I run at the track. I can cheap drag radials for the street and use the M/T ET's for the track. Doesn't look as good, but it'll give me about a 3.90 rear and good traction.

Well, I'm going to step up to bat on the Toyos. I love my Michelins, but a 35 series tire on the truck will look too punk-a$$ "yo yo, wassup, yo" roller-skatish on the truck, and sacrifice ride greatly. And I'm not even going to consider putting some 16" wheel & tire combo on it. Yikes. I won't even touch that, it'd get ugly. Although 99svtlightning, I understand and respect your particular reasons. But I've got more serious (and one hell of a lot better power to weight ratio) hardware in the garage for the dragstrip than the L. Even though I've got her into the low 13's, my truck is really on this earth to haul me to work, carry my dirtbike to the woop-dies, and look good doing it. Besides, I love my chrome '00 wheels on the silver truck, no way I'll change. Big Red Truck, all I can say is wow the roads must be like glass and true as a billiard table where you live. I'm close to the wear bars at all four corners at 16K, and I don't drive aggressively or light 'em up like an idiot at every stoplight. And the ride harshness denegrated severely after the 1st 5,000 miles was past. But I drive alot of rural roads regularly, roads that "expose" shortcomings in tires that nice city streets do not. Thanks all.

I've got the Toyo Proxes S/T in stock size on mine. I've turned a best 60' of 1.930 on them. I have 9K miles on them, and I've been very pleased. Autocrossed with them this past weekend, and I'd say they held their own against F1's. I bought mine from www.treadepot.com and paid $840 for four, including shipping to Tx. So far they are wearing well, and it looks like I'll get more miles out of them than I did the OEM F1's (23K).

Does anyone know whether 14 x 2mm chrome lug nuts are commonly carried in auto parts stores?? Alignment shops?? I am not able to check until Sat.

Pleeaassee post some pics of your truck when you get the new wheels on if you can.... Can't wait to see how they look!
