To Those Who Are Running Nitrous, Has Anyone Ran Into Any Problems As A Result?

I was wondering if those who currently are running nitrous on their L's, if they have run into any problems as a result?

Not on my L, but on my dodge. i was lined against my buddy in his 99 C5 when i realised my bottle was nearly empty. man was my face red! i quickly hit my anti-theft switch next to the nitrous switch, and stalled it, told him i had a problem, and maybe some other time,or something.

Nobody wants to race anymore. Does that count?

TampaSVT- How many bottles have you ran through your L? Also are you running Jim's nitrous program?

Talking

hankfan,
I just bought the NX kit for my L. I also got the fuel pressure safty switch, that will cut the nitrous if it has a drop in fuel pressure. I am going to start putting the kit on tonight. I have a chip for the nitrous coming from JL. I will start off with the 50 shot. with a good chip we should not have problems with the nitrous. I have ran nitrous and a 9# blower on my mustangs with out problems. If something happens then I will have to rebuild it and make it even faster! The NX kit is adj. from 35 to 150hp.

Hankfan:

I'm on my 3rd. bottle. Most goes out the purge. I've only run it a couple of times at the track.

I have JDM's new nitrous program but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Just too hot down here to take it to the track. Maybe this fall.

Angry

You mean other than blown engines and transmissions. No, other than that, the guys who are running it here have had no problems.

We have used well over 300Lbs of Nitrous. We have had 1 motor and 2 trans go. The motor was not destroyed by the Nitrous but accelerated by the Nitrous when the slap started to get bad. The trans on the other hand blew the 1-2 clutch pack just from pounding it so much with so much power. The 2nd trans went in less then 1000miles so something wasn't right when it was put in. We have put about 100Lbs through the new motor and so far seems happy.

Cool Nitrous Problems

Other than replacing 4 tires at 12,000 miles, a tranny at 22,000 miles, 15 refills, two sets of spark plugs, MT ET Street's, Driveshaft loop, (2) new PSP 4 Way Chips with nitrous program, and having to build a custom bottle rack for two bottles.
None Here!

Here in Houston, we are betting on how long 1BADTKs engine is gonna last. I'm in for less than 25 more passes.

Do you guys think that the L's will be able to handle a 75hp shot long term without any problems?

NITROUS

Brian,
I currently have over 40K on my truck. Original tranny and motor. Currently the tranny is in need for a rebuild, but still responds very well to my abuse. I do plan for a complete overhaul before the fall when I plan to run some really serious numbers at full weight with even more nitrous than my current set-up..
To date I have not had any plug damage or even detonation. I have gone through over 10 15lb. bottles of nitrous, and as you know I run a wet system not dry. Which I do believe you are limited to around a 100 shot with a dry system. I run NGK's, and always check a few after each run just to be sure all is well.

C'mon now.....I have given you plenty of TECH on this.....now go give it a try already LOL
Install your 75 shot pill and run it, dont be scared of it, you'll like it I think that I have proven that you could really get these beasts to fly with the right set-up
