The JDM lower pulley is here
O.K. first thing first, Thank You Jim and all of the JDM crew.
including Lightning Bob or what I like to call him Proto Type Bob. I went down to JDM on Thursday to have some work done on my truck. I told Jim that I wanted to be in the 12 sec. club on a street program with 93 octane and on the F1's. He said not a problem, and he was right. I made two runs last night at Englishtown all in street trim, Here are the results:
Run#1 Run#2
R/T.... .557 R/T..... .522
60'.... 1.913 60'..... 1.999
330... 5.385 330..... 5.473
1/8.... 8.225 1/8...... 8.301
MPH... 84.97 MPH.... 85.74
1000.. 10.687 1000.... 10.758
1/4.... 12.777 1/4...... 12.843
MPH... 107.78 MPH.... 108.11
All I can say is that the pulley is real and it works flawlessly. To you guys that didn't want to wait, you missed out on a great design and that was your choice and that is fine. For the guys that started bogus rumors which I won't get in to you may want to re think all the crap that you said. I have been reading all of the bull ***** that you all have read, some people chose to bail and some stuck with it and waited. Those of you that waited you will be very happy. Those of you that bailed your loss. If anyone wants to post anything negitive about my post, just make sure that it is towards me since this is my feelings on this whole thing and mine alone.

Hey Bill,
I had a blast with you for the last couple of days. We towed the Cobra home this morning and worked out a deal to get it covered under warranty. That L of yours runs awesomely huh? Got my pulley installed today on my L. Can't wait to try it out, maybe at Norwalk next weekend. Jim plans to go too. You will have to take a picture of your other new cool mod and get it on the boards. Looks great on your truck. Hope to race with you again soon.
Prototype Bob
P.S. I went back to the local watering hole tonight, but our sweetheart was not working.

Bob:
That is great to hear that your Cobra will be getting fixed. That little thing bar tender was fine, It's too bad that she wasn't there for your veiwing pleasure. I hope you had a couple of beers for me, when I got home I had a couple for us here
Who knows next time when I come down to JDM you might be there again. So how did everything go for you today? Are you headed home soon? You will love the new pulley, I know I do.
Talk to you later and have a safe trip home, Bill

hey hd, please don't defend JDM in this pulley fiasco. delivering something he promised, should not be commended in any way. i own my own business, and i would have refunded all the money at the first hint of a problem, whether the client wanted it that way or not. i have had a pulley on order with JDM for 7 months also, and have not posted a single derogitory thing on any site. what i do not understand is how someone with an outstanding reputation as Jim has, to let one product like this, drag him down. this is the first product i ordered from him, i have been waiting 7 months, and i don't know if i will order anything else from him, strictly because of the way this was handled.
Bill,
Been wondering where you have been...Well said about Jim. There was some serious mud slinging and un-called for accusations being thrown around. I will be dealing with JDM very soon and look forward to working with them on getting to the 12 second club. Bought a 2001 since last time I saw you on here and I can't wait to get started! Chip, Filter, Pulley, and breather cap are in my near future. Any other suggestions? Oh yeah. Which wheels did you run your 12s on? I know you were talking about going to 22s...Congrats on your times. Still love your truck...Rob

First of all I am not defending Jim, I am simply posting my own personal feelings on the pullies. I was there when he got the phone call from the machine shop, I was there when FED EX. dropped the pullies off, and I was there when Jim installed the pulley on my truck. As far as I can see it the pullies being finished was out of his hands, delays happen all of the time and people just have to realize that. When you are having someone else mass produce something for you in bulk like this you can only go by what you are told by them. To go out and say things like there was never any pullies and he was using the pre paid pulley money to start his bussiness is simply a joke and complete BULL***** If you have ever been to Jims shop you would realize that a few thousand dollars wouldn't even put a dent into what he has for equipment and not to mention all that he has in stock. If you want to falt Jim and base his bussiness ethics on this one thing that is up to you. I myself paid for the pulley and could have got a refund just like anyone else that asked for it. I didn't want the refund I wanted the pulley, and thats what I got and that is what everyone that has waited for will get. I have seen Jim, and his crew for that mater work and they are perfectionist, you wont get something unless it is perfect. That is what I want and I would think that in everyones right minds that is what they would want. Time will tell and I think that the bearing and the cage are a must, Ford would not of went through the trouble to design the pulley this way if they didn't think that it was necessary. You can say that I am defending JDM if you want but I am simply stating the facts the way I see them. And seeing how he does not post on here I think that there is nothing wrong with someone who does know some of what happened to post something positive about their own dealings with JDM.

Thank you, and congrats on your new 2001. You will be very happy with your JDM choice, I know I am.
I ran the 12's on my stock 18" wheels with my F1's. I should have my 22's sometime next week and I will be going to the track to try them out. I figure I can be the first one with a gen 2 Lightning into the twelves on 22's
I would start with the mods that you mention, those should put you in the 12's as long as you can get decent 60' times on your F1's.

You are lucky to live within driving distance of JDM's shop so that you can have your truck tuned and to make sure that you receive your parts as promised. The majority of us do not. This issue should not have resurfaced.
I think your truck kicks a**!!! Love the videos you posted about a month ago - especially #5.
Just my .02.

I have not and will not order a chip or pulley FROM ANYONE. My L will remain stock.
Just wanted to say thank you to MRBBQMAN for restoring my faith in humankind.

Within driving distance? If you live on this continent you are within driving distance. It just depends on how far you want to drive. To me it is only about 420 miles, no big deal about six hours if I don't get lost and when the traffic isn't so bad. Take Lightning Bob He lives out in IL. about a thousand miles or so, This is his third time out here this year alone. So make the trip it cant take you more than a few days. Jim even put me up at his house for the couple of days that I was there, Fed me, stayed up until 3:30 a.m working on my truck, But he's not a good hearted guy? He's just in it for the money right? My ***, I can make more money in a lot less time then what he got for the time he had invested in my truck. If he is just in it for the money then he is doing something wrong. I think that he loves what he does and what ever money he makes is all gravy. When we were at Englishtown Friday night there was atleast three guys that came up to him and asked him questions. He was more than happy to go over to their vehicles and help them, For the money? Maybe some bussiness down the road but I think more along the lines that he likes to help people and that he loves the sport that he is involved with.
You have your right to your own opinion, as do I. I can understand and even appreciate your opinions. But I think if you had the opportunity to meet Jim and see how he works on a day to day basis I think your opinion would change. I wasn't trying to bring back up the negetive side of all this but I was trying to shed some light on the positives.
1. An awesome pulley is now finnished.
2. A company that can do full on tunes, to installs, to what ever you want done and to the highest quality that you could want.
3. If it isn't up to Jims quality then you will have to wait until he says that it is perfect. Case being the pullies, They are perfect and well worth the 7 month or so wait. He could have sold you other pullies and had them out to you a long time ago, But Jim is not the type of guy to sell something that he doesn't believe in. If I have to wait alot longer than expected so be it, I will wait and when I recieve it I know that it is high quality and I don't have to always be thinking about if something is going to fail in six months, a year, or ever.
I am sorry if you can't see my side of things, I am not asking you to change your minds or opinions, I was just sharring mine. I hope that maybe you can appreciate my opinion a little too.
Peace out, Bill

HD- I totally agree with you on this subject. I meet Jim at Fun Ford Weekend in Richmond and he is a great guy who wants to help everyone go FASTER!!! During the weekend he only ran twice and he helped all of us do better in eliminations and even got totaled to the finals! He didn't have to do that!
My L is JDM all the way and it will stay that way
I really can't say much more because hd said it all for me!
The proof is in the puddin'

I would like to thank Jim for his dedication and for his attention to detail and his workmanship. I have only gotten a chip from him so far, but he has always been helpful on the phone and so has Julie.
I am in the same boat as Jim, I get to do what I love for a living, work on cars/trucks. I dont do the same type of performance work that he does, but I am a certified Master tech and have been for 18 years. There are not many of us that are able to go to work and let our hands and mind make us not only the money we need to survive, but the satisfaction of knowing that we are giving our customer a valuable service.
I might have to make a customer wait an extra day just to get a part like a water pump for an Acura, only because I am getting a dealer part. Yes, I could get a peice of crap from a local parts wharehouse, but the original pump lasted 140k so why not put the same quality part on it that came with the vehicle, and not only that, you know it will be right and work great.
So if some of you are crying because you had to wait a while for a quality part, just think about this, what would you have done if you would have been sold something that would have been poor quality and on your first run it would have broken and done thousands of dollars in damages to your L??? You would have been mad, but now you get a chance to get what is possibly the best lower pulley available for the L.
My L will be JDM all the way. Best first run in 90degree weather with just his chip and a K&N was 13.23 @104, so how can I go wrong??? 60ft 1.997
Thanks Jim and thanks hdmlnium, I will be with you in the 12's soon enough.... JJ
