Steve, maybe Lo-Tec will cough you up some royalty funds, since you introduced this baby.

Exclamation How many clips holds this surfboard pod on

You will also learn once you apply fiberglass over the rubber surfboard it will warp from the heat as it cures. There is zero rigidity to the part.

I hope they make it with clips if they plan on making it thin like there pillar pods. Once you install gauges, it will be top heavy and be a nice flying object in your passenger's face during a collision. Mine was heavy urethane and over 1/2" thick in parts with the oem mounting tabs molded into the pod. I'm actually done making these so really don't care either way. But, will be interesting to see how they solved several issues I had to deal with.

'To remove the surfboard, How many clips holds this in do you just lift up on it and that is it. I would like to have one to mount extra gauges in mabey a two pod i would not want to just drill holes in mine and mount pods would not look good. I would like to buy one already made from someone who has one for sale. There is a company that makes these by the name of MM Customworks they say his workmanship cannot be equaled it is the best and cannot be matched but i can't afford his prices

Does anyone make that top dash piece like Neal posted pics of? Or do we have to try to make it ourselves? I really like that.

This is what Lotek is making if they copy the surfboard pod.

Surfboard is held in place with several very tight fitting clips. Just lift-up a section of the surfboard and pull. Try not to remove when it's hot.

MMCustomworks makes these and many more. Top notch craftsmanship is hard to come by at any price and in his case unequaled.
Buy from the little man, in these tight times,,, why help out the monsters of cheap!
These type of practices have underscored/unearthed the American economy in the first place..........

I think you could fiberglass them, but you would have to reinforce it from the bottom side too. Ive got an extra surfboard lying around i might play with at some point

'I know nothing about working with fiberglass, or bonding material together
someone mention in one of the above posts that the surfboard, cannot be fiberglassed, It would be nice if it would work you would think a body shop could do this??? and bond fiberglass pods into it. But i am guessing trouble is i don't know.

im sure someone at a body shop could do this as a side project, but i doubt that a body shop would take on a custom project like this.

If i get my surfboard working, how much you want to pay for it?

Be careful working with fiberglass, you don't want any problems with your lungs.

Thats a good lookin dash! I dont have much need for the pods, but i've been trying to think of something custom to do to it when I glass it. Thought about a pod type thing for my tomtom but not sure if I really like the idea. Hopefully I think of something soon or else its glass then spray!
