to daily driver or not to daily drive...that is the question.

search gave some different results since it was hitting on the word daily & driver. but i was wondering what you guys do with your lightnings? i was going to use mine as a daily driver (would be fun). but then i read tallimeca's post about the girl that smashed into his DD.

so now i dont know if i should only use my truck on nice days & days off, or drive it and enjoy it. if im not going to use the lightning as my daily driver, i would use my SCab. which i guess the only way that is fuel efficient is that it takes 87 octane instead of 93.

Well if you have something else to drive might as well save the Lightning. i dd my lightning. You will probably drive the l more often at first just because its more fun. Why have something if you cant enjoy it right. Remember the more you drive it the more you get used to it and it will start to feal slow. Then the modding begin

funny you say that because i was actually thinking about doing that before i thought about trying to find a lightning. but seems like there is a lot involved and now my cash is depleted (sp?). but who knows what could happen when tax returns come around, lol.

My Lightning isn't my DD. I had rocked $500 beaters for a few years till I got my Super Coupe which is now my DD. Seeing as how you already have another vehicle I would drive the L when its nice out. It will stay nicer alot longer, my 02 only has 30,000 miles on it and looks practically new in and out. If I didnt have another DD I can only imagine how many miles it would have on it and how messed up it would/could be.

well, see the Lightning has 116k on the body. i didnt raelly have any intentions of making it a show truck or even holding on to it for any kind of collectible. but with the mileage that it has on the body (even though the motor only has about 18k) do you think my truck would really be worth anything?

I think right now the market isnt to hot for gas guzzlers, but it should pick back up soon. I wouldn't look to sell in the short future.
In the long run I think it will still be worth something. It is a Lightning, and they did only make so many of them. As long as you hang on to it and keep it in good condition it will have value. A well maintained vehicle shows over time.
