Bought another L (18,000 mile 03 Sonic Blue) so I have had a Red, DSG and now the SB. Drive the L every day to work and back. I do't want to drive anything else (except my 2002 Mustang CMC car).

I bought a black 04 w/ 5000 miles on it a few years ago. Just wasn't the same as the original 99 I had.
Just bought a new 2011 Lariat Limited. Nice to be back to an F150 again...
I was going to post in this thread back in 2009 but I didn't for some reason. I just reread all the posts and it brought back a lot of memorys. I even remember when Joe explained that the race track announcer gave him the idea for the handle RTKilla by saying his truck was an RT killer.
I still have my 2000L that I have driven daily since May of 2000. It has 115,000 miles on it now. About 4 1/2 years ago at 75,000 miles I came across a great deal on a slightly used JDM longblock and had it installed. It makes the daily drive even better. It runs 11's with my safe daily driver tune and a rear tire swap. I haven't been to the track with it in at least 3 years.
On a side note SVT KY (Cliff) post#33 passed away more than a year ago from cancer. It was posted on another forum.
P.S. Just to give you an idea of how much time has passed since I joined this forum in Sept. 2000, my daughter was just starting the 9th grade at the time. She will begin her last year of law school in August (2 years done already) and spent 5 years in college because she changed her major late in the game. We've been around for a while.

I sold my 01 L back in 03 to buy a more reliable college-commuter. Actually ended up selling it 6 months later and building a s/c/cammed gmc sierra..(couldn't get away from the trucks)....anyways, fast forward a few years and I found a deal on a 04 L with 832 miles on it...this was Nov 07 I believe. The 04 L is my daily driver and now has 28k miles. Very minor mods, JDM tune (of course), 2lb lower, intake/90 maf. It runs great....not quite as fast as my 01 w/nitrous though
.
Good to see some of the old screen names on here. I was just out of high school when I got my 01 and joined this forum. Now I've been out of college for 6 years and just had a baby girl 2 months ago.
Lurking on here for info on brakes....mine are starting to get mushy.

Long time no talk. How have you been man? Last time we talked I had the Saleen. Got rid of that POS, due to warranty non pay issues with Saleen, long story. Anyway, glad to see your still driving the L and nice job on the long block find.
My wife and I are looking for an 03-04 L as a weekend warrior right now. I found an 02 with 3k on it, Im considering. LOL, I still have all the parts I took off the red 01.
Living in Knoxville now and snow is an issue, sometimes. So I had to get a 4x4 to get back and forth to work. And my loyalty with Ford has not changed. I love my Raptor.

Lots of memories in this thread! I miss seeing all the Lightning owners up on the East Coast. Lost the Convertible in my first of two divorces, LOL. I moved down the Florida, and I am finally selling the L after 10 awesome years. Driving a Pontiac G-8 (Red of Course) and Spending a lot more time riding the Harley (gotta love Florida weather, I don't miss the 5 months of winter!)
I wish I would have been on here back when you guys were talking about. Although, had I been I doubt y'all would have let me post pictures of my sweet BMX bike I had circa 2000. Haha. But For those of you that still lurk can a newbie encourage you to stick around and post more? Always good to have more people to learn from!
This Gen2L old schooler is selling his 03 HD tomorrow. Eleven years, two Gen2 Lightnings, an 03 HD, and several friends later...it's been fun.
