I am scheduled for 5:00 (PST) today, so if I can get the sheets scanned tonight I will post the results, otherwise it will be available tomorrow.
Just for the record, I fully concede that the 392 (spike) was created at a shift point or converter lockup,, but never the less it was cool.
I don't however doubt the consistancy of the power curve after the spike which looked to be in the 380 range.
My mods do include a JL filter kit too which hasn't been aknowledged by some I.E. I am not just running with a chip alone.
Darkhorse, I too am an Engineer, but that doesn't mean that I don't try to have a little fun once and a while.</font>

What kind of engineer? I'm not sure that being and electrical or software engineer counts when it come to understanding how an IC engine makes power.

Aerospace.
WE are generally classified as nerds who don't know how to live it up.
As for all the variations in dyno programs, you're right, I am confused.
I think the dynojet I went to is screwed up.
341 with mods? Thor01 made 358 with nothing!
Something stinks. But I am tired of spending 100's of dollars to test my power rating.
I'm send the chip back to JL for a more aggressive program, and then Elec fan, long tubes and T/B will be installed and then I will go back.
Next time though I will return to the Mustang
dyno. I know, I know, but I feel the 378 mark was more realistic, and will be my so called baseine for these future mods.
Also they said that more time can be spent setting up my truck for the test which can garuntee a more accurate result.
Last time they didn't have a sensor attached to the tac which caused the high tq readings, but my horse power (I blieve was right on).

The Dynojet is the MOST accurate innertia dyno on the market and I can promise you that this was obviously the Dynojet's operator.
How did you make your run? Full on throttle in 3rd gear, or ease into it? Was he giving you corrected #'s and what were your NON corrected #'s? He could have been using #'s that were correct. Also, has he had his DynoJet calibrated lately? Did you have plenty of cooling area around the truck? Was it warm when you attempted the run compared to the one on the Mustang Dyno? I have always put a large fan or more than 1 in front of my vehicles when I dyno them.
If you don't know this, it's easy to tell by having your winpep files so we can plug them into the dynojet winpep program they provide free on their site at www.dynojet.com. Can you call the DynoJet place you went to and request them to email you your winpep files or either put them on disk so you can come by and get them? I can analyze them then for you.

I see now here:
http://www.seattlesnake.com/new_page_7.htm
...that he used a correction factor of 1.0. Do you have ANY of your runs shown w/out being corrected? I hate to keep bringing this up, but w/ the winpep files you can analyze them w/ the winpep viewer you can download from Dynojet.com and view them w/ and w/out correction (at least you used to be able to do such).
If your #'s soar high it may be that he isn't using the most accurate correction factors. Also, was his barometer settings right? 29.84 seems a tidge high to me. 91.9 is also rather warm too.

Based on what? Your extensive dyno experience? A REAL mechanical engineer would never be satisfied with a number that he suspects is wrong but makes himself feel better. An A/C project engineer is only an engineer by name.
Take it to the track! A dyno is a tuning device. When a dyno is not being used to tune a vehicle the results should be put into perspective - is pure entertainment. People forget this as the beat their chests saying, "mine put out bla bla bla" across the country. The only accurate comparisons that can be made on a dyno would be back to back against your buddies, same day, and same dyno. Take it to the track if you want performance numbers! Correction factors help level the playing field but there are still the operator variables. Some operators want you to be happy and have ways to fudge the data. The mustang dyno is the worst in this regard.

BfB,
I did not get them on a floppy that day, too darn busy at work.
But I will see if they can e-mail them.
It was warmer Thursday too, and I noticed that the intake was very hot just befor the test as I had driven through rush hour traffick just before.
Larry,
I have a BSME (that's Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering)
I am also a Contractor. How else could I afford these toys.

My stock 01 made 356 rwhp on a dynojet (corrected). A very early JDM program and filter added 21 hp. Long-tubes added another 7 peak hp (more on the lower end).
Next will be a lower pulley, electric fan, new program (and a race program). A couple of other mods should put my black beauty well over 400. I would like to see 420 w/tuning and no NOS. Is it possible? We'll have to see.
Snake - I think the temps and the operator killed your dynojet runs. I'd stick with the dynojet and make sure the guy knows how to use it.
You can always try a new program or a different chip. With all that you've spent on your Cobra; whats a couple more bills?
Good Luck and Keep posting numbers.

2001 Lightning
(Recv. Date 05/18/2001)
I think the temp killed my run too.
Just before I did the pulls, I flet the intake and it was hotter than hell.
That concerned me, and then while the truck was performing the pull, it seemed weak to me.
Not exibiting the same verocity it did the previous weekend.
I think there may have been a posibilty that the chips contact(s) were not correct.
Like it was shook loose or something, because a 341 pull with just a filter would make sense, but any L 2001 or not with a chip/filter combo should do better than that!
I am going to check it this week, and then do an ***-o-meter check.
As foe the reburn to another program, I'm going to wait.
Talked with JL today, and I've decided to go with a lower pulley in the near future which would require an alteration in the program at that point.
Yes, compaired to the snake, what I've spent on the L so far in mods has been a drop in the bucket!
