well i just bought my Ls replacement. I got a 02 Z06, stock, one owner, and it only had 20k miles on it. Picking it up on the 26th!!

I heard from my Ls new owner a couple of days ago. He is having a great time beating on it lol. He went from a 3.0L v6 ranger to my 450rwhp L. A race tune and a e-fan are already in the trucks future lol. Really happy to hear he is loving the truck and it made back to wisconsin w/o any problems

here is a few pics of the new ride:

Sorry to see you go, Brah ... But at least you're moving UP the food chain ... and it's not a Subaru !!!

Cliff

PS ... if you gets lonely for the kick of the truck you can always take Christine for a few laps.

well got her home! this car is perfect! It is very fast (faster than my old L), rides great, got 27mpg on the 10hr trip home, etc. It really is a step up for me. Anyways here are some pics i took of her this weekend after i got her cleaned up. I need a set of goodyear supercar tires for the front. The 1st owner got a flat and the shop told him the goodyears were on back order for a few weeks. SO he put a set of dunlop tires on the front sense he could not get home on the flat and did not want one tire to be diff.

low 4s (4.2-4.3 i think) to 60 and mid/low 12s in the 1/4 bone stock! Plus there are many owners on corvetteforum.com that are running 11s with a cai and DRs only. The car only weighs 3116lbs lol.

my lightning had a 2.3 whipple / supporting mods and made 450hp/495tq at the wheels. The lightning had a ton more torque down low but the Z06 pulls all the way to 6500 rpm. I really feel this car is faster than my old lightning. Not because the Z is what i drive now but it just feels faster. Power to weight ratio lol.

My only power mods will be a callaway cai, american racing long tube headers/cats, and a dyno tune (380-390rwhp / 370-380rwtq). These car are able to run mid 11s with those mods (DRs also).

I got this car for it handling more than for its 1/4 times. This thing was made for open track events. Even with the suspension setups i had on my L this car stock is on another level (which it should be lol). With a good set of race tires and upgraded brakes this car is going to be insane on a road course.

the driver mod is the biggest thing that helps these cars. There is a lot of Z owners that dont know anything about 1/4 racing and can only run high 12s in them lol. BUT a good driver can make these things haul a$$. trap speeds of 116 plus on stock cars are not rare on see level tracks. The record for a c5 Z06 with a cai and DRs is 11.50s. This was on a see level track, perfect conditions, and a GREAT DRIVER (screen name RANGER). Same guy got his C6 Z into the 10s with DRs only

Wasn't Ranger's best time in a showroom stock (paper air filter, goodyear f1's) C5Z06 around 11.7/11.8? He stopped posting on z06vette.com for some reason.

staying with n/a setup on this one. n/a is better suited for open track events esp on stock blocks. i can get 500rwhp with todays heads, cam, intake, and bolt-ons.

You really think you can pick up 155 RWHP with bolt-ons and a head / cam swap ? I'd like to see the parts list for that, if you aren't upping the displacement...

Your L only made 450/495 with a Whipple ? I'm assuming you still had the stock block with a conservative tune ? Just curious...

BTW - Nice car !!! I love driving the Z06 (except for the crappy seats). It is a car that truly isn't afraid of any corner !!!!

Also, check into the steering column lock bypass - you don't want that to happen to you when you are out on the town... Trust me, I know all about it !!

check out ECS for the parts list/video. there are a few tuners out there making 500 rwhp with AFR heads, big cam, fast intake, fast 90mm tb, long tubes, exhaust, etc. Anger mang. has a stock short block, heads, cam, intake, bolt-on car that just went 10.22 on the stock suspension, stock weight, and with a six speed. i have followed these cars for the last 3 years. I am not some rookie that does not know anything about these cars. 500rwhp is a lot easier and cheaper with a bigger cubic inch engine. But it can be done with the stock 346ci short block. Plus there are many c5 owners making 470+ rwhp with h/c/i and bolt-ons for last couple of years. 500rwhp with the 346ci engine takes a big cam, high flowing heads and high rpms.

follow this link to Mike M. white 2001 z06. it list his mods, times, and has a video of the car.

Yes i had a 2.3L whipple on a stock long block, high flow cats, catback, fuel mods and a safe tune(16.5 psi peak on the dyno/11.8 air fuel at the tailpipe/13* timing). The truck had a lot left but i wanted a safe year round street tune.
