Couldn't have said it better.

kobiashi - if the car wasn't so ungodly rare, I would say why didn't you jump him. Well, you should've asked for a ride.

Killa!
Did you get those 20" wheels?

About the McLaren. I went to their home page after I posted this thread. Talk about cool!!!! Check this out...
Production of the McLaren F1 drew to a close in May 1998, with a total production of 100 cars, made up as follows:

F1 = 64
F1 LM = 5
F1 GT = 3
GTR 95 = 9
GTR 96 = 9
GTR 97 = 10

For the F1, it requires a few moments thought to come to terms with the fact that only 64 of these exquisite cars will ever exist. Their rarity is guaranteed, and consequently, their value is likely to increase with time.
(This means they are more than $1,000,000 now

Most of the existing owners intend to keep their cars for their lifetime - some even intend to pass them on to their own children. But ,just occasionally, an F1 becomes available through McLarens facilitation service, which helps to place existing F1's with new owners.
(OOOOOOHHHHHH I want one I want one!!!!!!)
PLUS>>>> AFTER you get a used one check this out!!!!!
Having secured an F1, the new owner would then expect McLaren to rebuild the car to his own specification. This would include a seat fitting to ensure that all the controls are perfectly positioned, plus any combination of repainting, retrimming and options that he requires.
(NOW THAT'S THE WAY TO HANDEL A USED CAR SALE!!!!)

Want service? check this out!

With a total of 72 road car derivatives in 12 countries around the world, McLaren have established a three-tier system for providing service support for the McLaren F1.

Primary support is provided by a local Authorised Service Centre, which carries out routine servicing. At the next level, McLaren will fly out a technician who is capable of undertaking more detailed work, either at an Authorised Service Centre, or at the customer’s premises.

Finally, in the rare case that major repairs are required, the car is returned to McLaren. There are eight McLaren Authorised Service Centres around the world. Each one has technicians who have attended a dedicated training course at McLarens premises in the UK, and are fully qualified to service the F1.

I guess you really do get what you pay for!

I knew there was a guy in Palo Alto who made gillions in the computer biz who has one. This was the first I've seen around here, so that makes at least two here in the states that I'm sure of. I'm sure there must be a few more.

Here in Los Angeles you see stuff you wouldn't believe. Ferraris, Lamborginis, Porsches, are all a dime a dozen out here. Where people get this money I have no idea, but if you love cars this is the place.

I have a 1/18 scale f1. If I had another $999,960.00 I may buy a real one. But realy a million bucks is alot for a car that is not even as fast as the new Hennesy Viper! Owell I may never have either going to count my change :-(

Cool

I read an article a few months back about this car. McClaren will meet you anywhere to pick it up for service (usually as you get onto your private jet). They then take it in for an oil change and what not. Service bill $150K. If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Did you notice that the driver's seat is center mass. Passengers sit on each side of the driver.

I considered buying one of those awhile back.

The cupholder was too small for my 64oz Big Gulp, so I told the dealer to get bent.
