Talking WFC4...Reflections

First of all, I want to say what a pleasure it was meeting, and getting to hang with Johnny and Sue, Sal and Lisa, Spiro, Speedin Bob, Brooks, and Cristy Ann.....What a fantastic group of folks. They all made my first WFC, a great experience, and one that I shall always remember.
A very special thanks and SALUTE to Johnny Lightning for all of his help and advice while there as well. I left home, on Wed. morning with a "bone stock" 2000 L, that had never been run on a 1/4 track. In fact, it only had 3 runs on a local 1/8 track, with the best time being a 9.008 @ 78.5 MPH. Not all that impressive, to say the least.
I followed Johnny, Sal, Spiro and Speedin Bob to the Ramada from Indiana on Wed. morning. Immediately, and folks, I do mean immediately, after we arrived, Johnny Lightning went to work on my black L. He worked liked a man possessed, for three hours in very high heat and humidity, on the hot asphalt back lot of the Ramada. When Johnny was through, I am pleased to say that my previously stock L would now run a 8.43 / 84.6 MPH (1/8), on the way to a 13.07 / 104.1 MPH (1/4)!!! (And this on stock F1's no less!) Thanks again Johnny...You definetely went "above and beyond the call" for me, and I am sincerely grateful. I am proud to call you and Sue my friends.
Now, for some ET streets and maybe a 50lb spray set-up and.....:-)

Frank

Yep, that sounds like Johnny and Sue...always willing to lend a hand. She pushed my mirrors in for me before I ran one of my runs at National Trails. Super people.

Johnny did the same for me last year at the Norwalk Truckfest. The man can't stand to see a stock Lightning go to the dragstrip.

This Lightning community is a great bunch of folks.

I didn't make it to the WFC, but I'm sure I know what you mean about the Lightning community. I've said it before... It really is something special...

Frank, it was great to meet you and I'm glad to have been able to help get our PSP lower pulley on your truck in the parking lot. Your truck was running awesome and I'm glad that you had such a good time. This is the kind of stuff that makes owning these trucks so much fun!!

Frank,
It was a pleasure meeting you and your wife as well. Just like JL stated, You seen first hand how racing should be...people helping each other out, not trying to insult or DISRESPECT each other. Enjoy your goodies, you will want more..LOL
