Hello Gents
Well, I've moved up in the world since we last spoke. I now have my TOY car - a 2001 Ram Air Trans Am. Black on black. A very sweet ride that does not see moisture at al outside. I plan on keeping it for a long time since I think it may become a collector's item since GM stop's production of the f-bod's after 2002 model year.
I'm mainly writing you guys to know that I am now in your league....or should I say you may be in MY league? The reason I state this is that for model year 2001, the LS1 got stronger, much stronger. The LS1 now has the LS6 intake, no EGR and LS6 cast exhaust manifolds. There have been a number of WS6 owners that are breaking 13 seconds in the quarter mile SHOWROOM STOCK!!! Since I only have 80 miles on the odometer, I have not even come close to seeing what mine can do, but in due time I will.
I will say, it is nice to graduate into the Big Leagues!!! (Yes, I still have the GTP and the Durango)

Show me da times! I raced about 3 LS1 F-bodies and 2 LS1 Vette's at a Chevrolet dealers customer appreciation day. Talk all you want, but the L with minor bolt on's are approaching 11's. One LS1 F-body came close, ran a 12.88 to my 12.47 at the track the weekend before last. He had different heads, cams, etc. That was thousands of dollars in parts only to be spanked by my 'ol pickup.

Let's talk stock to stock. 2001's are a different breed. I can spend 600 bucks and be in the 11's. Talk is cheap. Stock LS1, especially for 2001, will absolutely blow away a lightning unless the driver is incompetent.
