My truck ran a 13.57 at 101.13mph, with 1500 miles on it and a chip. It was around 65 the night I ran it. another truck with 4:10 gears, chip, filter, exahust, and pulley only ran a 13.53. It was a 2000. I would say the 01's are just a little faster, but it could be a number of things from tires to driver. No acurate way to tell because the 60 foot times, and weather, and driver are never going to be exactly the same.

I went to the track for the first time last night and managed to go 13.72 @101.7 with a 1.84 60' on radials!! I am very happy with this truck. I only added flowmasters with dumps and lowered the truck 2".

I've had my truck on both dynos and here are my casual observations.

1) There is indeed about a 10% lower number on the Mustang dynos compared to the DynoJet. I don't have my sheets right here in front of me, but I do remember noticing that. As far as different weather conditions, the dynos have software that do a conversion back to sealevel, although I'm not sure about any temperature conversions.

2) If I remember my information correctly, the Mustang dynos run about $60k and the DynoJets about $10-15k. That would easily explain the abundance of DynoJets in comparison to the Mustang. I've also been told the OEM's use the Mustang, but I don't know that from firsthand information, so find your salt shaker on that one ;-).

Actually, Dynojets start around $30K installed and go up to over $75K depending on options and configurations. I know this because I just got my Dynojet info pack today (hint hint). Dynojets are preferred by the majority of aftermarket companies, because of thier abundance, because it keeps the compared data more consistant since more people use them. As a tuning tool, any dyno is good, because they all measure power gains and loses. The only problem between brands is when you try to compare data between them.

Wow this was a really good thread. So instead of a weld in 8 rows to fail, there is a chance for one in 9 rows to fail. Interesting.

Sal, thanks for the new info. The guy who gave me the DynoJet info was the owner of a shop where I had my truck last dynoed there about a year ago. In a visit previous to that he told me he had about 10K invested in buying (not installing), so I took him at his word.

The Mustang Dyno info was from a shop outside of Detroit where I had my truck dynoed last summer. Again this info was from the guys who worked there.

I'm not trying to start an argument, just trying to point out that I guess it depends upon who you talk to what kind of answer you get...either that or the DynoJets have REALLY went up in price in the last 18 months :-).

BTW Sal, I got my reburn back really quick, Thanks. If you don't watch it there will be people trying to hammer you because you're TOO fast! :-)

I agree with Sal on this issue. The lower is proabably good for a good 5hp and the MAF helps with the re-tune of the MAF and chip = 20hp. The 3.73's from 3.55's are nothing hardly at all. I wouldn't give them half a tenth in difference. I went from 3.27's in a 3.8L Stang to 3.73's and would have saw a tenth but the extra 3-4 shift where my redline was killed that.
