I just went from my 00 gt to this 01 lightning and I swear my gt felt faster.. maybe it was just the manual trans shifts that I was feeling? this is my first auto but I do hope it loosens up like you guys are saying.

 

I went from a supercharged 96Z28, to a 98 Cobra, to the L. The L blows them all away. The proofs in the pudding. Wait till you get your first time slip.

After your truck is broken in and with a chip and filter you will be able to blast your tires to smoke at any speed under 35mph.

Put the 01 thru some twisties this morning going to work and I must say I believe it DOES handle better than my 99. Could those Bilstein's be all that? Haven't had time to install my JL ram-air, it's still sitting on the kitchen. And I still say, my 99 would smoke the new truck as it sits. Time to eat and go to bed, so I can do it all tomorrow, seven days a week. Later

Red Line Water Wetter Wet Okole's Bedrug JL Ram Air

 

I had the same impression as you all have, getting out of my chipped, filtered 00 Lightning into my 01. The 01 felt weak in comparison.
Installed a JL ram air, chip, and SVO throttle body. Drove it down to Byron Ill. last weekend and ran three 13.2's the first three passes down the track with 600 miles on the odometer. The 00's were setup simular were running 1-2/10's faster. With it broken in I believe it will be at least as fast if not faster than the 00's.
