I think you both should have done a couple of those lines, and raced again. i probably would have made a difference one way or another

 

For the record,You cannot really compare a stock Lightning to a ls1. chipped and filterd lightning will beat a stock ls1 at the track for a few reasons.1 is traction and the other is they do not have enough room to catch us.The fast stock ls1s at my track run 13.3s where I run 12.9-13.2 so I am faster.

Now you take a vette.The stock ones I see at my track run 13.1-2s which is what my truck runs.It is all in the the light and the launch.If I launch better,I win.If the vette does,He wins.The vette guy claims he ran a 12.9 once and maybe he did.So did I.The best heads up race is a vette and a chip and filtered Lightning.One more thing,The "stock" vette had exhaust and who else knows.I dont even know if it was stock,other than exhaust but Im sure the "stock stock" vettes run pretty much the same.Dont think that im that fast either cause where the Lightnings that run 13.5 with a chip and filter at other parts of the country the vetts do too.;

Now take the z06.

MY GOAL THIS YEAR is to beat z06 vettes and then I mill be the MAN!!!The greatest part is ist really not that much money its just making sure that the chip and maf is programmed right. then you add
Throttle body
pully
ram air
slicks
intercooler power box
torque converter

ALL FROM JOHNNY LIGHTNING OBVIOUSLY

 

Stick with JL and the Ferrari's and Lambo's will be playing catch up.

I am the proud owner of a 98 LB 4.6 F150 that has gotten smoked repeatedly by just about everybody that has a car with the same performance level of a Pinto or better.

Simple enough reason is that I choose not to race my truck. It is, after all, a truck that is made to do truck-like things. These things would include, but are not limited to, pulling a boat, pulling a car trailer, pulling stumps and general hauling duty.

Now I've heard a lot of Shovie owners talking smack about a lot of Ford's performance products. Their favorite targets are the Lightning and Cobra.

My answer is a simple one and a classic one. The 1967 GT40 MarkIV.

742RWHP from a Ford 460 in a 2650lb body mated to a six speed ZF transmission. Yes, it has been upgraded with modern performance parts. I have yet to see ANY Shovie car, no matter HOW modified, keep up with her. Don't bug me with quarter miles, kid. That's for people that have not yet learned to steer. How about a few laps around Silverstone, Sears Pointe, Bell Isle, Monte Carlo or Le Mans? That's a REAL test of a vehicle's ability.

BTW, she sleeps in the car trailer that my little ole F150 totes behind it.

PS. Look for that F150 to be replaced with an L. Ordered mine from Covert this Wednesday. Ordered her in white, the same color as all my other vehicles.
