Just curious, as it seems there is power to be had in porting out our heads.

 

I believe HIGH RISK did this. I also remember reading that you won't see much from it unless you're doing a ton of other stuff along with it...but I could be mistaken.

High risk did do his and I think he sold them already too.

I don't know what stage porting he got done to the heads, but I'm still getting mine done at the end of this year.

I had a set ported at the same time and same porter as HIGHRISK. I haven't put them on yet. I don't know if I ever will. I wouldn't say that won't see much of a gain. HIGHRISK didn't have cams when he changed heads. I think he was messing around with the converter too. His lack of impressive gains could be blamed on other things.

Crane Cams now offers some regrind options.

I might consider selling the heads if anyone is intrested!

You are right about not really getting all the bugs worked out after the porting of the heads. I'm not getting rid of them because I don't think they helped. The cams weren't available last summer. You know why I'm getting rid of them.

Everyone else,
I truly believe that the ported heads, the proper cams, a set of long tube headers, and a well tuned chip would be worth 100 hp. I still have them, they have been repaired from the E-town melt down. I have enough parts (minus the block and crank) to build an entire Lightning motor. Perhaps after my truck is done I will put another motor together for some thing else. PROJECT Z ????
