I like the pictures. Funny It seems they have added most of the common mods to the 2001

Clear Corners
3.73 gears
Different Grills
Optimized Computer

those wheels just don't cut it. there too squared off. the one thing that makes 99-00 bolt is the design of the wheel and many people comment on how the they like the wheels on the bolt. white taillights on a red bolt. I prefer the red. nothing great about that front grill either. glad I did not wait for the 2001 and bought a 2000 L. nice pics. my .02

Nice work Steven, our country could use a guy like you with your handy camera work. ENLIST....just kidding. Hey, its a Lightning and I like it. Iam putting on my clear corners today and WHENEVER my chip gets here my computer will be updated (wink-wink) to the 2001 hp rating. So all in all, nice truck, but I think I'll keep my 99.

I'd like to get the Altezza style lights for my black truck, I'd been looking for them for a while.

I also like the clearer lights in the front...wonder if those lamps are HID?

Dunno if I like the rims yet either..

Thanks for the pics!
Thumbs down for the wheels and tailights. Thumbs up for the improved power. Grill is so-so. I don't like it overall, it looks like Ford's new-age design is trying to work it's way into the truck lineup. I hope they realize that the truck crowd's taste is waaaaaay different than the ricer bunch.

Cool

SilverBullet:

Great job getting the pix.
IMHO the headlamps and fog lamps look great. But those wheels are ugly, and the clear tail lamps gotta go too.
Glad I've got my Y2K L.
Once again great spy work. Ever consider the NSA?

Those wheels are just god AWFUL! They look like 15 inchers on the truck(I know they're not). First thing to do is take those off and replace them with 99/00's. The front is awesome, and i'm kind mixed on the taillights. Something inside me says taillights should be red. I like the "jewel-effect" taillights on the Olds Intrigue. The way the lense is a red clear plastic, and the faceting is on the reflector. Anyway, just my $.02

Can't say that I'm crazy about all the changes but then again I am a little biased.

I am sure that there are a lot of potential buyers of the 2001 L's and I don't want to put them off. If this were the truck that was offered up two years ago, we all would have been jumping up and down with excitement.

For all the 2001 potentials out there, buy it, love it, and be really excited about having the best damn truck ever built. Us 1999 and 2000 owners just have pen!s envy.

Don't anybody kid yourselves, when you sign up for your next one in 2002, 2003, or 2004, you won't want what you've already got and you won't necessarily like everything about the offering, but you will buy it.

Just MHO.

I was a little nervous about the 2001 L being improved to such a degree that I would be disappointed that I didn't wait for it. How relieved am I!!?
The extra horses and torque would certainly be enjoyable, but how much would it cost me to buy 2000 or 99 wheels and tail lights? I love my 00.
