Cool

I agree with mega zap 100%. At firt I didn't like the new look that much but the more I look at it the more I like it. They still should spend most of the time making it faster and fexing all of the common problems. I plan on getting a 01' lighnting so they better fix that intercooler problem. One thing I dont understand is why does ford have to change the look of the 2nd gen L soo soon it has only been out for 2 years and I love the way the 99'-00' looks.

Cool

Thankyou for the PICS

I have a 2001 on order, so I was happy to see the pics. I like most of the mods SVT will put into production, but the grille, I don't know.

Just remember guys, If we all liked the same type of woman, boy what a fight we would have.

Silver trucks will look the best with those taillights. I like the grill, only because I've had the same grill for 5 yrs in 3 different F150's.Wheels may grow on me. IMHO

Fit and finish needs some work!!! Check out the humongous gap between the front bumper and grille section! That is downright ugly.
My 2K Silver L has less of a gap, but still has a gap - doesn't show up as bad as the one in these photos.
Personally I don't think Ford gave enough for the $10 million increase they got on the 2001 truck. I would rather see refinements instead of design changes. Solve the problems first, THEN go ahead with design. (similar to what GM does with Vettes)

95rcobra,
you can bet I'll be latching on to the big daddy if they build it.

Buy stock in the billet grille company's, because I can see at least 4000 orders after the 2001 are sold. Been looking at the wheels for a couple days now--still don't know yet what to think.

Thumbs down

Well, I was worried that when I ordered one of the last 2000's to be built, that I would be disappointed with it once I saw the 2001's. Boy am I relieved. It definitely looks too riced out. The headlights and foglights I think I like, and I know I will like that LED brake light. However, the grille, 'ricey' tail lights, and the 'left over from a bad sci fi movie' wheels make me cringe.

Awesome Pics!!
I'm glad I have a 2000. The grille looks terrible, don't like the wheels, and the clear rear lenses look bad on the red. Just my opinion.

Talking

Hey you 2001 Lightning guys, don't ever leave your windows down. If you do,those
headlights and signals are mine,hehehe
Wheels ,ugly. Grille, iffy. it looks too big.
Chrome plated 18 inch wheels would
have looked better, it looks a little ricey but
not bad considering they were trying to
improve a nearly perfect design. Fold Rightning, anyone?

Like the lights, just not on a red truck. The fronts are ok but I just don't think the clear and red go all that well together. Black, silver or white, they would look great. The third brake light, nice idea with LEDs. Wheels, no comment. An interesting design and it is an acquired taste. The grill, don't like it that much. However, like it or not it is still a Lightning and you have to love that!!!!

Have fun for those with them on order!!!!

Silverbullet

You didn't look at the frame in front to see if the frame hole is still elongated did you.

I would hope Ford would take the opportunity to fix the clunk problem this year.

I like everything but the rear tail lights!

Everything would look awesome on a black truck!

it whenever I back up then pull forward and put on the brakes.
