lightning guys i need your help ASAP clutch fan!
im in the process of taking my clutch fan out and....how do i get it out?? ive got a big wrench on the fan shaft and a wrech on the water pump bolts and nothing is working...any ideas? ive been trying for the past 3 hours to get this thing off!!...ive hit the vese grips on the fan shaft about 100 times it has 1/2 a bottle of WD40 on it and it still wont come off! or even move at all. The water pump bolts seem to just spin as if there not grabing thread any ideas on other ways to hold the pulley in place while i crank on the fan?? 1997 F-150 4.6L thanks guys!
used a hammer and a big punch because i dont have an Air compress so i pretty much made a slower air hammer but it is normal threads on that fan Left=loose i just had to hit the egde of the fan shaft for like 5 mins and it started to come loose then i just spun the fan and it came right out
dont worry my buddy with a ranger swore when he took his apart it was reverse but me and one of my other friends didnt think so...should it have said that some were in the owners man.? i looked and didnt see anything about the fan...im sure i coulda found it online but it came off so i didnt look.
considering the water pump pulley spins counter****wise looking at it from the front, it would have to be that way
