I don't remember specifics but try searching and I'm sure some threads will come up. I think it is recommended to get a new gasket and use that RTV sealant. (I think...)

Intake manifold gaskets can be reused unless they are damaged.

All that is required is for you to clean the surfaces from dirt etc. Lay the gaskets on the heads. They have pins to line them up. Drop the intake on. Then proceed with the proper torque specs.

Install the intake manifold & thermostat outlet.
Install the bolts. Tighten the bolts in two stages in the sequence shown.

Stage 1: Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
Stage 2: Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

thanks for the help just wondering if you have heard of others having problems with gaskets going bad. I have a issue where after I have been driving for about 10min there is a bad oil burning smell. I lifted the hood and on the passenger side there is light smoke. theres no oil on the ground but just a little on where the exhaust connects to the manifold. So any help on what the problem could be were be helpful. Thanks

Red,

I have not heard of any problems with the lower intake manifold gaskets. I still use the original ones my truck came with.

Sounds like you might have a leaky cam cover gasket. You need to clean up everything around the area of the leak first.

Then start the truck and let it idle. Look around the area of the leak and maybe you can see where the oil is coming from.

Most cam cover leaks seem to come from the rear of the cover.

Good luck with it.

PS

Did the leak start after any changes to the truck or after racing it?
