What's the Deal with the JDM Pulley
I think that my Lightning was one of the first that JDM worked on after his decision to offer his vast knowledge of Lightnings and Ford products to the public..I was having trouble with the truck..the more mods I did the slower it was getting...Jim was meticulous about finding the problem and taking care of one problem before moving on...there were times that I wanted things done and he explained that he didnt feel comfotable moving on until everything was perfect with the present set up..when he knew that it was working then he would add another mod and make sure that that combo was doing what it was supposted to do...there were a few times that the combos didnt react the way they should have and he was diligent in finding out the reason...he is a perfectionist about his work and his knowledge about the workings of hi performance is unrivaled ...some of the fastest cars in racing have originated from his shop...he has been instrumental in developing parts in conjunction with FMC..his work had been featured in mustang mags on several occassions....this man is no lightweight in the racing community...and I feel fortunate to have had and continue to have access to his talents...
It will be a great loss to the Lightning racing community if he chooses to be selective about which vehicles he works on...or offer his innovative mods to only a select few...and not the general public...
we have been waiting for a pulley for longer than most of you have even known about JDM Engineeting and will continue to wait. Jim is a man of his word and if he says he will clear up this situation then he will...just give him a chance...he is doing all that is humanly possible to make good on all the orders...
we have the utmost confidence in Jims talents, knowledge and ability

I respectfully ask all of you who are waiting on this pulley to not to upset the man to the point of quitting on us. Both times I have spoken to him (to buy new parts - not to b*tch about the pulley) I've heard the other phone ringing off the hook in the background - and he sounded frustrated. I just hope it wasn't people giving him a hard time about the pulley. Time on phone listening to b*tching = less time prepping the pulleys.
With all due respect to Sal, his pulley looks and sounds like a great thing. And I'm glad he's delivering on it and his customers are thrilled with it. It does have the advantage of being able to service the main belt without big headaches. But something about that missing cage and bearing assembly bothers me. I can't imagine Ford put that on there for the fun of it because it cost them the almighty $$$$.
OK, I elected not to "hide" and I know I just set myself up for some major flamework. But I feel strongly about this subject because the pulley spins at 6 grand and can affect the crankshaft. Not to mention "frag factor."
...And I've not received my paid-for pulley either.
Not ranting, just stating fact.
Thank you.------------------

Wow, this post sounds familiar, kind of like the stuff Sal had to deal with way back when on the PSP Intakes when they fell behind schedule.
You guys are amazingly critical of small shops working hard to bring you products that NO ONE ELSE WILL MAKE for you truck. It is not an easy job...getting things made, doing accounting, doing shipping, doing customer service.
If you are not happy, cancel your order and shut your mouth. The guys at JDM (and PSP as a matter of fact too) will return your money no questions asked.
Some people squeal more then a pig in a grease contest.
I'd like to thank both Sal AND Jim for the hard work that they put into making modifications for our trucks.

we'll i would like to say what i said in a previous post. I really believe that everyone might be jumping to the wrong conclusion. Jim has every intention to ship everyone's pulley! as you all know he's had some tolerance issues which MUST be taken care of BEFORE they can be shipped! i know how everyone must feel waiting and waiting and thats understandable i'm impatient myself especially when SPRING is in the air and i'm ready to put on some more mods! but i believe everyone will have their product within a few weeks. just hang in there everything will be ok! i can see it now in a couple of weeks when everyone is burning their tires up with the new pulley upgrade all of this will be forgotten and everyone will be saying man it WAS worth the wait!

The way I look at it is that my credit card was charge a while back too, but big deal it's not like it was three grand or anything. Look at it this way when you get your pulley you would have paid your card by then so you wont have to come up with any money when your pulley arrives. Like other people have said if you don't want to wait for the pulley, call JDM up and get your money back.. Just please stop your crying.. I will wait with no problem....Bill

Disturbed,
I understand your unhappy with the wait, but I have told you all that I can. I no longer work for JDM, and really don't need to tell you what the reasons were...no direspect, but it's not your business.
If you wait for your pulley, then that's fine, but if you dont want to wait, call RobG or Jim for a REFUND!!!
Don't get me involved by calling me to reply to what I obviuosly told you by E-mail....a few times.

Just my .002 worth....
I have never met Jim, Spiro or any of the JDM folks for that matter. But I have talked to Jim twice on the phone. He is a helluva guy!! It is very apparent that he is NOT going to ship something that has the slightest imperfection with it. Personally, I applaud this belief. I think that there are lots of companies that would ship you anything to get your $$. While I, like most of us, are anxiously awaiting my pulley, I would rather wait and have it done right.
It has been made very clear that if you aren't happy, call and get a 100% refund. There are other pulley setups around (PSP, SHM, ASP) but I will be waiting on the JDM. Not a knock on any of those 3 companies, its just my preference to wait for JDM.
Also, I know Jim realizes that everyone is eager to get it. What has happened is completely out of his control. He's not the guy working the machines that make these, therefore he is at the mercy of those that do.
Bottom line -->> If you aren't happy get the refund and move on....Lifes to short.....
All that said, I am looking forward to meeting Jim, Spiro, Johnny L and all of the L owners at the Englishtown event this month.

I do appreciate The pains that the whole crew are going through for us. Everyone needs to understand that anything they post for sale, they have mega orders, RIGHT NOW. It's not growing pains, It's EXPLOSION pains. They are more busy now then ever, Yet they are quite organized now. They are pounding out the parts, in another month look back at this thread, & see if I'm wrong, but I think we'll all have our parts & they will be able to ship much faster. I believe in JDM, But when everybody trys to buy 5-6 parts at once, anybody would fall behind. If 100 of us ordered ET steets for summit the same week, how long would they be out of them? Lloyd
