Is't it cool! I got mine for Christmas. Put it together in about two days with the body painted to match my white L. I have already started to modify the truck. This thing scoots. The factory street tires kinda suck on most surfaces. Needs soft racing tires to keep up with the suspension.

I modified mine a bit from the tamia factor. I had an old race car that did little burnouts on big tires. once in a while on a fresh battery you could see some smoke from it pouring out. anyway I made the body fit that one and I raced my buddies real cars down the block for money. Never lost to one of them yet. they don't have fast cars though. This little RC hauls A$$. I have never check but I would say top speed is about 45 MPH on it, maybe more. It fly's, and it gets there quick. I need to repaint mine tough, to many curbs and jumps. I want to modify the body so it looks just like mine. I think I'm going to have eddie to it for me, you should see the models this guy makes, exact replicas of real peoples cars, right down to the spark plugs and the superchargers. he's building a model of mike post car right now. He even built a roll cage out of soder for it. he has to much time on his hands. way to much.

Tamiya used to be really good with match similar drivetrains FWD/AWD with the correct full scale counterparts. They had a JTCC series (racing imports) with real front wheel drive - lots of fun, understeer, very driveable. There's a Cobra '94-'98 body set-up for the above car.

The stock tyres suck and wear out fast but the fun factor is still there . Once you get serious and start racing and spending big bucks, it can get old.

Eddie is my buddy that I race with, he was with me at cordova last year, if you where there. He races a white 88 gt mustang in the renegade class. Love that car, should be in the mid 9's this year with the new novi 2000.

anway , he just like to make models all day long and he does some awesome stuff. he'll just pick a car out in a magazine and make a exact replica of that model the best he can. he did a lightning along time ago when I first got mine, he put some bolts on it, and then he went and made a bed cover, mounted a baterry under then cover. why you ask, because the crazy guy went to the hobbie shop and bought some little tiny LED lights for head, tail and turn lights. He's crazy with that stuff. He maes cowl hoods and ram air hoods, he's got his own little work station where he does this stuff. I bet he's got about 20 cars done already this year. He could do one of your truck most likely. just post a picture and I'll ask him about it. He does sell the model's he makes. I don't know what he'll charge for it, it all depends on how much modifing you want done. he's going to try and do one of my truck. Exactly like it though, I wait to see. I should take some pictures and post them on here.

I have both the RC lightning and Cobra R. They are 4WD because of the chassis platform they are built on. Tamiya makes like 10 cars on the same chassis and just puts different bodies on them.

Here are some pics of mine. I have modified it a bit. I have a 12T motor in it and an Tekin 411G2 speed controller in it.

This is how it comes in the the box.

Kit all built

Here is the Cobra R kit
