Question Any one make 5W-20 Synthetic oil?

My 2001 Lightning requires 5W-20 oil. I have allways used Mobil One oil, but they don't make it in 5W-20, neither does Amsoil, Penzoil, or QuakerState.

So if I want to run a Synthetic oil, what am I to do?

Should I run 5W-30 and chance voiding my waranty?

If anyone has a idea let me know

Thanks

Neo Synthetic Oils does... but it's only for arctic climate?! http://www.eliteone.com/neo/5w-20.htm

Redline makes it, but for race use only - not for street use.

probably a good idea to wait until you have about 2K miles before switching to synthetic oil.

I have a buddie who swears by Shaffers, not sure on that spelling. I dont know if they have 5/20 but its another resource, do a search maybe. Its a very good, but not availble in stores synthetic. I would also agree, get some more miles first. I just went to Mobil One at 10k.

If anyone has read the Feb 27 issue of AutoWorld weekly there is a great article on synthetic oils. one of the myths they talk about is that you cannot break in an engine on synthetic oils. FALSE. the Viper, Vette, and all Porsches come from the factory with Mobil One synthetic oil. I personnally have been using Mobil one since 1979 in many vehicles and have not once had engine problems. Put Mobil one in my 95r model at 199 miles when I bought it last year and my 2000L at 600 miles. I have trusted Mobil One for over 20 years now and it has never let me down and do not expect it will in the future. thanks 95rcobra.

well I only have 200 miles on her right now, so I have some time to figure out what I want to do. I have allways changed to synthetic(Mobil One) at about 1000 miles.

You would think with Ford specing 5W-20 in there vehicals, that someone would be taking advantage of that and making a synthetic oil for us.
