HI!... Because in the rules for top fuel there are NO turbo's allowed....................

HI!... Around here the turbo cars kill everything. Most guys with superchargers are switching to big single turbo set-ups. That's why I'm building a custom turbo set-up for my truck T-76 or a t-88. If properly done you can have a broad powerband. 2800 - 7000rpm no problem. I don't care about anything below 3000RPM due to I have a 3000 stall converter.

Hi!....In your area those times are in KPH not MPH. So the turbo cars really aren't faster.

HI!... Well I just find it funny that a buddy of mine has a "87' Grand National, with a larger turbo and some simple fuel upgrades and it has run a best of 10.95E.T on slicks and race fuel. Lately he has been beating everything out on SAT night SR. That includes a Z06 with MT's and a great driver.

...also what does that have to do with a turbo vs. s/c LIGHTNING? How is this relevant for either side of the discussion?

HI!... I was proving that even a small 3.8L v-6 with a "TURBO" can be really fast, and a daily driver.

Slicks and race fuel on a daily driver in Canada during winter

Bahhh my friends GN will beat your friends GN lol

I still feel a S/C is better for the daily L, as posted before in our club all the GNs etc. with turbos run into more problems than us with a S/C,and the S/C gang put more miles on them on average

but I can't knock a GN

Oh, now it makes sense.

So we should all convert to 3.8L turbo trucks.

IMO it really matter what your looking for, I have the Whipple JDM kit, and haven't had any issues and it went on in one day, say on a built motor combo it's good for 650-700HP proven HP, Turbo setups can make more power period, but for someone like myself with limited fab knowledge and the tools needed I want it to fit, I've yet to read about a true bolt in kit or one that someone didn't have to wait 6 months for, now you can go custom but the question is can you afford it. I think if I was was building a new combo I'd go with JDM's alloy short block, shelby 4 valve heads and the new 3.3 Whipple, once sorted out thats a 9 second ride on available parts, what more do you want for a street ride.

HI!... You really should check the air in your head. I believe it's a bit low.............

You obviously didn't get the point. If a small turbo can make a 3700LB GN go high 10's, than a properly sized/designed turbo on a v8 in a truck will go 9's easily.

The fastest cars in the world use what? Oh...turbos....fancy that

Seriously guys, we get that you have a redneckcharger and you have to justify your purchase, but there is absolutely no way you're going to prove that a supercharger is better. Your argument that on heavy trucks the supercharger is better is also crap...tell that to the Big 3, all of which use turbos on their full-size diesels...diesels which are known for slow RPMS to start with. Or how about Caterpillar and the other MASSIVE dump trucks/tractors/tractor trailers all of which use turbos. Your argument just doesn't make sense...

Top Fuel run turbos [lol]
it's all preferance, The big boys run Diesels for the low end tourqe, to get all the wieght movin, you don't see them running Turbo gas motors.
If you look at tractor and truck pulls how many of the turbo'd ones are Gas, and how many of the Gas ones are supercharged. I have nothing against turbos or diesels, they do what they are designed to do I just go from what I have seen in our area and our type of usage.
not everyone does or feels the need to on turbos, but when My buddy has to let his turbo cool down before shutting it off, or risk scoring bearings, I'll stick with mine
