1BADTK,

How in the world did you get 478 RWHP? Your 75 RWHP over the highest non-NOS G2 Lightning that I've seen. Please, please, please list your mods.

Using that calculator I got numbers way above what my actual dyno results were. The ET method was 30hp high and the speed method was 40hp high.

What is balancing the MAF and how do you do it?

You can change the values that the pcm sees from the MAF by adding diodes to the MAF so that the pcm sees colder air readings and more air flow. Its a trick that has been used by many with MAF units and electronic controls. It all just takes time and patience to get the most out of each mod.
Since I bought a 99 L I have had to sort of create modifications. Such as changing the plug gaps to see which was the best setting for my setup, changing MAF values, and even messing with the O2's. Some worked others didn't. You won't get a lot of HP for any one but all together they will compliment each other. Every Little Bit Helps!

Here's a simply way to do this.
On a cold morning hook up a volt meter to your MAF, remove the filter to get as much unrestricted air to it as possible. Check all the current values coming from the MAF.
Now put the filter back on, let the motor warm up and check those values again. This will show you the different currents for cold and max air flow compared to warm and restricted air flow. Now you know what values you want to acheive. Add the diodes and test again. Now go drive the beast and see if there are any differences. Its called cheating, but hey what do I know, I am only a preacher. <*(((><

Almost forgot, I also have a IHRA Funny Car Owner/Driver in my SS class who has his own dyno and shop.

My Mods:

- JL Ram-Air
- JL Air-Kit
- ASP upper pulley
- JDM Chip
- Level 10 shift-kit
- 3.73's
- Bassani cat-pipes, cat-back (C R A P)
- Slicks

All my runs were made without the use of an aftermarket torque convertor or Nitrous Oxide. And of course on stock manifolds, still using the stock MAF and TB as well. I believe my list is simple, but obviously very effective on the track. I also do believe that the JDM chip has a lot to do with it, you must remember, it was "tuned" for MY truck.

And of course a good track with fair air and proper driver skils will give you the best performance.
Next up, the Go-Go- Juice and some 11's..

There isn't anything I haven't done to my truck that most others haven't done. I just continue to fine tune everything I do all together. Each and every time I change something I tune it to match everything else.
Each time it is dynoed to see the performance improvements or losses. Currently working with a new PSP chip on my system. Looking for more improvements.
Has anyone tried balancing the MAF's, ProM or factory? There are some gains to be made there by cheating the pcm. Have to tried different plug gaps for max burn, different plugs ?
How about improving intake air temp. Air under the hood is HOT, average intake air temp I have seen is 108 degrees, try feeding it som 70-80 degree air
