manx - lighten up
i wouldnt burn that truck..

the most i'd do is poke fun at him, IF he trys to tell anyone that it IS a lightning.
then i'd get him to race me with several witnesses watching.

now, if i were to drive by & see his truck on fire.. i'd make sure to get the hood off first. LOL

Hey RTKILLA, I know that this is the L message board and all, but cant we keep the peace around here a little, I own a R/T, as you all know, and I am not stupid, I know what a L looks like, down to every little description, the exhaust the wheels, the regular cab, the badging, I know, I also know that with the mods I have right now, that if I didnt realizethe difference for some strange reason, and i blew it out at the light, I would know that it was not and a L, and would considered it an F-150 kill, now catch me in one month and it'll be a different story, got all my mods in my garage, just waitin to put them on..

Sy1999R/T,

Is it safe to assume you will be in attendance at the R/T vs. Lightning shindig at Byron sporting your new mods?

Just curious.

Clonetek,

Don't worry, I don't think anyone that knows what a Lightning is will mistake it for one.

I have the L wheels on my XL because I wanted different, larger wheels and tires yet I did not want to go for the goofy look with wheels and tires sticking out 6" past the fender flares.

With the L wheels on the truck everyone who is into F150's compliments it.

Then I get the oil change kid at Ford that goes "Wow! I like them Lightnings!" and I have to correct him about it.

The only negative thing I have ever heard about having L wheels (before I read this post) was from a L owner who pulled up at a light next to me, rolled down his window and yelled "Wannabe!" at me.

At first I felt mad, but then this A-Hole got what he deserved as the light turned green he decided he needed to show me what a real L could do and he smoked it across the intersection, lost control on the other side and curbed it.

Both left side tires blown and I am sure cracked the wheels, left front fender hit the street sign and knocked it down.

I was LMAO as I drove by.

Not sure if that bozo frequents these boards, Red L, license plate said "BOLT1" or "BOLTL" I think.

Comes around goes around thing......

Manx,

before you call Clonetek a moron, you might want to check the correct use of your words.

"but don't think that because you own a lightning that somebody's going to let
you burn there truck!"

It's not "there truck" it's THEIR truck, as in indicating posesion.

I thought that hood looked really good and then when I got the Clone's post on how he liked it, I thought it looked like the new 4-runner hoods. Anyone else see the similarities?

And as far as anyone copying a lightning goes: I think it's a grand compliment. You don't see many fools copying extremes or RT's do you? why? cause they're retarded (extremes) and slow (RT's). (sorry SY1999RT)

As long as we win our races and the imposters feel good about their waste of cash, I feel ambivolent.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

I think putting the L badges on a regular F150, no matter how badass it may be, is not cool.

I just think it'll be cool having an SVT Lightning and an SVT "Spark" parked next to each other in my driveway...

So, you're saying you'd make fun of me and my truck if you saw it with SVT-F150 badge on the tailgate in place of the F150 emblem?
Why? That's stupid. How "High School" is that?
If someone wants to put something on their vehicle to make them feel better about driving it, so be it. As long as they don't try to pass it off as something it's not if someone asks, who cares.

I'm going to put an SVT emblem on my tailgate as soon as I win a bid for one on Ebay less than $15.00. I know my 4x4 ext cab Lariat isn't an SVT vehicle, but it's different. I like my vehicles to be personalized to me. If I want to buy a decal or an emblem, then I will. If you're gonna make fun of people, make fun of the little high schoolers that slam their 79 Honda Accords and put 18" chrome wheels on them and $5000 stereos all on a car that is worth about as much as dinner for 4 at Denny's.

Just my $0.02

The SVT badge is no problem, it's the Lightning badge on a regular F150 that looks silly.

98Nastruck:

How about calling it "Thunder"

Thunder & Lightning parked next to each other.....

If I could get mine Nastruck as fast as the lightning then I'd call it a thunder. Until then it'll be "the spark".

I remembered reading this thread a little while back and came across this today on EBAY.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...847551&r=0&t=0

This is one of the harder to tell imposters/replicas, except for the fact it has a 4.6 in it.
Just thought you guys would be interetsed in this one floating around..

No offense to the owner of this in anyway as I think it looks D#*& good and lots of work went into it to get it like this. The 4.6 cant compare performance wise to the real thing in the "L" but if its never raced who would know

thanks for that reply.

its my truck.
im not really selling it.

just seeing how much its worth.

not to long ago there was a post of people harrasing it.

oh well.

anyways it will be much closer to a lightning by the end of the month.

i just bought the lightning engine and transmission and i am installing it around the first of march.

i also just bought the Venom computerized nitrous kit, gives it 100 hp.

oh and i have had several people say something about it and i just always tell them its not real and that i built it myself.

i will be buyig the door panels and the dash panels after i do the engine.

its not a bad truck for a 18 year old.

my parents did pay for it either.

Discover and mastercard paid for it.
hehehe.

ill be filing for bancruptcy by the end of the year.

anyone wnat to donate some money to the "dont let steven go banrupt fund?"

if so just post me a message.
