Yes, Indiana uses unmarked Camaros. At least they did a few years ago. I was cruising down the interstate between Fort Wayne and Indianapollis when a Honda Acord went by at probably 90MPH. I thought he was going a bit fast until a blue Camaro went by about 30 seconds later much faster. Knowing how populated the Indiana interstates are with troopers, I thought he was taking quite a chance. A couple minutes later I came up on both cars sitting on the side of the interstate. The Camaro had red and blue flashing lights in the back window, and the front high-beams were alternating. The windows were dark enough that you couldn't see in. All it had was a small antannae on the roof and regular looking plates. I bet he stops a lot of people in that car.

Thumbs up

Marcus,

Now you talking. It probably has less wind noise than the Camaro that is trying to catch it. My wife had a 93 LT1 and it started sucking the side windows out at 135-140 MPH. I think the fastest topend I read on the Suzi was 189 MPH.

Could I have one of those to go please!

Explorer,

You are correct about Indiana Troopers using ca....ca...ca-maros (hard to say that word).

Last summer, I was clipping around 465 (Indy beltway) at about 70 and a greay Z2.8 pulled along side and tossed me a rev and a 4th gear "jump". The windows were midly tinted but I did notice the dash-mounted lights, black-striped light blue trousers, and mounted shotgun. After pushing my eyes back in my head and pondering the amount of time I'd spend in the hoosegow, I kindly returned said gesture, tipped my hat, and backed down to 65. Lesson learned...whew

Roscos are quite the sneaky bastages in these here parts.

Cool

The Albuquerque PD has a nice random variety of Camaros. I don't go anywhere near any Camaro any more. I have seen white, black, blue, grey, purple, and I think even a red one. They also have some marked camaros. I know one of the black ones has chrome wheels on it when I saw that I was done, now I tap the binders whenever I see a camaro on the highway.

But whoever mentioned radio was right, how many of us would really try and run, even if our own mothers were pushing the cop in a grocery cart with one bad wheel.

Anyway,
Gabe

Cool

Not me. I like to pick the time and place when I mash it. I wouldn't want to be put in a bad situation to hurt someone else or myself.

yep just got back from a xmas trip to fla. and going through georgia seen my first and second highway patrol cars that were camaros.
nice looking cars, jet black tinted windows and tiny little blue light bars on the roof. thought about stopping to try and get a pic but the fact that i had to hit the brakes when i seen them plus being out of state made me think it might be better to just move along.
BTW: when i was in NC the best way to tell an unmarked from the rear was the tag but not because it was gov't. they use regular plates but they all start with HP for highway patrol.
seen one up here in wis (vic not camaro) that had a reg plate with vanity letters that spelled out the new task force here. sneaky.. he followed me 3 or 4 times guess he got tired of me noticing him in time.
don't run in NC. tried it many years ago when i was dumb. those guys will chase rather then call ahead and they are dam good at catching. had the guy beat all day long way out of sight but he found me. very cool dude though he said the stunt driving was fun. ($50 fine for 10 over)

In FL not all troopers have the Yellow State plates, some use regular plates registered in various counties, with no special prefixs or trends. Also, not all of them have deeply tinted windows, but on the non tinted ones you can see the little boxes a ways away (the blue lights in the back window). And for antennas, their are some place that are mounting them inside the vehicle on the back deck (shorties) and new high tech phantom antennas are starting to show up. These antennas are about two - three inches tall about an inch and a half round and can color matched to the vehicle.
