Thumbs up

Spiro> What is the material that they are made of ? The pulley looks great. It looks like Stainless steel to me. I hope that the 2001's will accept the same pulley.

Hey Spiro, Just wondering why the change of heart with overspinning the blower? I know this doesn't connect to the blower itself, but basically the same principle, speeding up the accessory spin, right? I just remember when I started with my mods, was you and a few others that were dead against speeding up the blower, not even a little bit, and said it would destroy the blower.
No flames here, just curious what changed your mind.
Had my blower pully on now for 20,000 miles with no probs with the blower, would never go back to the factory. Just for info for the board, did do a swap around to do some pressure testing, the blower pully gained almost 3 lbs boost above stock in my application.
Cheers

Hey Moses, did you run that time with just the listed mods, or were you giving it a shot of Nitrous? Great time and mph, BTW!

Moses,
Not a problem,. I remember very well what I said to you. I did not feel comfortable running the upper pulley because of the crappy install kit that was another 140+ dollars needed option at the time of install. I mainly was not happy with the quality of the kits that were available at the time last year.
Now..after many months of information gathering, and speaking with the right people..I feel very confident running a pulley...WITHOUT HESITATION

There has been others that also have gone even more miles than you with a pulley, with no problems.

In my personal opinion, I would not run both upper and lower pulleys. I know from past experiences from blowers, when you close to the limit, why push it?? Everyone knows, by overspinning a blower past its limit, your only going to create more heat.

HOPE THIS HELPS

RTKILLA,
You're in

Arrestme,
The pulleyes were to me made out of Aluminum, but we wil be making them out of steel as posted in the PIC above. The pulley only weighs 4.5 lbs

Question

From another post you made you said your making a 1psi pulley and a 2psi pulley , is there any chance of you making a 3psi pulley . I've seen a upper 3psi pulley on other L's and they have never had any problems . I know about the heat build up and have a fix for it .

Hey Spiro, yeah, changing the upper pulley isn't something that should be done in the driveway, and even in the shop with a press, gotta be careful changing it. Know of some people that get a little muscle bound fustration going and did cause damage changing the upper pulley by themselves. And no, would not be a smart idea changing both pulleys...lol. Would be "blown" alright.

wrightlighting:
That time was done with custom lt headers, shm exhaust/chip/maf/pulley, icewater intercooler refills, electric fan, trans brake, 104 fuel, and slicks.
