Very impressive. The geometry remains close to the same with drop spindles or a-arms. BellTech told me they had too much problemos trying to manufacute a drop spindle due to the small size of the ball joint. I am really surprised Bell Tech did not come up with this solution. You did use the stock springs. How is your comment on the ride and handling. I bet its something. John

Whitelightnin, For the front I used the Bell Tech 3 inch coil and Western Chassis 2 inch A-arm and Edelbrock shocks.
For the rear I used the Bell Tech 4 inch kit which included shackles and hangers with Doetsch Tech shocks.
I had to experiment with different shocks for the smooth ride and rear bottoming out!
The L. handles very well and the ride is ok pretty smooth! Check out this other picture!

Could tell me how much all the equipment cost? Was installation difficult? That has to be the best Lightning I've seen yet! Excellent work!

Thankyou both for the compliments!

Hounddog, No I tryed Zaino wasn't happy with it!!! I use Cherry Wax a pink liquid really easy to work with and lasts super long really nice gloss to the paint and protection.
The Grills are from Trenz Polished Billet Grills.

afj00svt, I spent around $1500 on parts and aligniment and the extra cost of UPS and Fed Ex flying the parts to Hawaii to have the L. lowered the way it is. I spent extra money experimenting with shocks. I was lucky I had all the labor free because my Pal is a Ford Mechanic and he helped me. The hardest part is taking off the rivets on the rear shackles! I wanted my 00 Lightning to have a cool look and a smooth ride!

Djy,
I lowered my truck very similar to the way you did. With those shocks in the rear does it bottom out at all? I have the shortened Edelbrocks all the way around right now and the rear will hit sometimes. Where did you get the rear shocks?

Late,
Jeff

Djy like the truck. I'm ordering the belltech kit from 150online. Is that the same one you bought. Also with the bell tech can you leave the stock shocks on for the stiff suspension or do they not work well. How hard was the kit to do.

2nd Bolt, I had the Edelbrock shock in the rear but my truck kept bottoming out so I called Sport Truck Direct 800-876-6226
<www.SportTruckDirect.com>
and Steve the Rep told me I should try Doetsch Tech Nitro Slammer shocks. So I purchased all 4 shocks. The rear hardly ever bottom outs now only when I go over a speed bump too fast or hit a bump in the road I feel a slight bottoming out. I left the front Edelbrock shocks on they worked better than the Doetsch Tech.
Doetsch Tech Rear Shocks part#4180G

Are you using the Edelbrock Shocks #33987 in the front that what I'm using. They work!!!!

Edelbrock #34987 in the rear??? Switch to the Doetsch Tech #4180G in the rear you'll be very happy I am!

RTKILLA, I purchase the Bell Tech kit from 4 Wheel Parts Wholesale $236.32 for the
Hanger Kit #6419 & 3 inch Coil kit #4804.
I heard from others you can use the stock shocks you try it tell me! I had help from a Ford mechanic the hardest part is removing the rivets for the Hangers. A must is to buy a Camber kit for alignment and get a professional ALIGNMENT!!! Good luck!

DJY, I also use nitro slammer shocks front and rear, they work pretty good. Still I experienced the rear axle hitting the frame as there is only a 1" or so for movement. I decided to C-Section the frame and am very glad I did. No more bottoming out and if I need to haul something no problems. Had it on a 1/2 mile circle track and it held very well.

Bolt, Wow that is a beautiful truck the drop and the color of the rims and truck match, AWESOME!!! What drop do you have on you L.??? In Hawaii we cannot C-section are frames it is illegal! They say it weakens the frame and is not allowed. We have to do the Safety inspections yearly very strict. I thought about C-sectioning my frame many times. My L. hardly bottoms in the rear since I changed to the Doetsch Tech Nitro - Slammer shocks. What Fiber Glass lid is on your truck I got to get one???
Thanks, DJY
