Angry Wrecked The L...

Well last night had to be the scariest night of my life, it has been very cold here lately and at night the roads can get black ice on them without you even seeing it!! I was on the freeway in the left lane behind a 18 wheeler doing about 70mph, in the raight lane a jeep was about 15 feet behind my truck, plenty of room for me to pass the truck. As soon as I crossed over a bridge I began to merge into the right lane, thats when the L decided to get sideways on the freeway, I did 2 complete 360's on of which was around the jeep that was in the right lane. The other was in the center median! I have never been shakin up soo bad in all my life, I got out and about 6 cars where stopped on the freeway they ran over to see if I was OK, I asked how many cars I hit! They responded "No one you were lucky" . After about 30 minutes and 5 people pushing the L we finally got it out of the snow cover median, L's dont like snow or mud,lol.. The front bumper was bent up pretty bad and my Trenz billet grill was crushed beyond repair, I took it to an alignment shop today to inspect the suspension and undercarrage, everything seems ok. I does not seem to run right though> It was one hell of a ride. Ill post pics as soon I as can get the film developed, being lowered 3/4 inches might of been the only thing that kept it from flipping! I was very lucky and am thankful to be telling you all about my incedent on ice with my Baby! So if any of you all have a trenz lower grill or bumper, cover and fog light brackets let me know, instead of a JL chip it looks like I will be repairing my L.

LeenSVT> I'm sorry to hear about your L. I'm glad to hear you're ok, and didn't hit anyone else. You'll get her all fixed and looking good again.

I know that they do NOT like snow and ice. I met my girlfriend on the internet. She would drive from Az. to see me. I'd drive there to see her. This is 520 miles one way. I live in Central Nevada at 6000' altitude. (This is why I need a Gen. 2 L. No air here) We get snow and ice here. I have seen snow here in October and July. She was heading home to Az. once and hit an ice chunk that had fallen off an 18 wheeler with her '94 L. This upset the truck and it went sideways and off the road. She got help from some truck drivers, and was pushed back onto the road. Everything and everyone were ok. She has moved to Nevada, and lived here for over a year now.

I had to take my tow-truck 3 weeks ago, at midnight, 54 miles round trip, to pick her up at work, and tow her '94 L home here, as there was ice on the highway between here and there. I know that they are very scary on ice with the stock wheels and tires.

I hope you find the parts that you need soon.

Well, first off, glad to see you are okay.

Second, welcome to the 360* plus club. There are a couple of us on this board. My truck hit a moose (I wasn't driving, just along for the ride), and another guy's spun out on him.

Welcome to the board again.

Dude thank god that your ok and alive.

I had a nice little 360 myself up in chicago. Ice doesn't work to well with my truck either. I only hit a curb and broke three rims but My L was out of commision for a month waiting for rims. Thats one of the reasons I bought another truck for the winter. Good luck with fixing the baby.

That "black ice" is some nasty stuff. I totaled my '84 Pontiac 6000 on that stuff.

I didn't mind too much though. It was a 4-banger that could be out-dragged by ANY other vehicle on the road. I got a MUCH better car from the exchange.

Glad to hear you're OK, and that the L just got bent a little bit. You were a lucky fellow.

I greatly appreciate everyones concern, I had my wisdom teeth cut out today and Im just now able to get around to doing things, mainly see what all I need for my truck, Last night I decided to take the front end apart to see how bad it was, I was very upset to see that the, cooler behind the lower front bumper was bent all to hell, its not leaking but Im sure everyone on this board is the same way as I, it will bug me to now end if I dont replace it! Is that the transmission cooler that I am talking about? I thought it might be the intercooler but Im doubtful that it is because I thouhgt they were a part of the eaton unit! Any of your alls input would greatly help

I beleive thats the intercooler radiator. The other end is indeed underneath the supercharger.

How is your intercooler level, BTW?
