Question JBA Headers Install

Hi, Guys

I had the JBA Headers installed back in July and have not been able to go back to the shop to have the manifolds tightened.

Today, I noticed a really wierd ticking sound that increases in volume when the gas is pressed on. I was told that it was an "exhaust leakage".

Will it harm the truck if I continue to drive it since I will not be able to bring it in to the shop until next weekend.

I am by no means an expert, but it sounds as if you have an exhaust leak. As long as it is not "too" bad/loud, you are not in any danger of hurting anything. However, there are few things less annoying than an exhaust leak.
You should be able to determine where it is coming from while it is idling and just tighten the header bolts yourself, if it is worrying or bothering you much.

It could burn out the gaskets or worse especially if it is on the heads and not the exhaust bisket. don't wait too long. it will get worse.

I don't think it was worth the money as I did not feel any big difference.

Put your money on a chip/filter combo. You'll definitely feel the power difference with this.

Cool

I have the JBA headers on my L and have had no problems yet! They are not worth the money i saw no gain in e.t.Leave the stock exhaust alone unless you want a deeper sound from a catback. But don't expect more power! If you want noticeable results in e.t buy a good quality chip a pro-m and ford throttle body with good sticky tires this combo will result in .8 to 1 second off your e.t time!

Don't have headers on the L but when I put them on the Cobra, I had similar problems you all are experiencing. I highly recommend Stage 8 locking header bolts if they make something for the L's application, don't see any reason why they wouldn't. Once installed, you will never have to worry about them again.

I was actually thinking about getting those, I've seen them advertised saying they give you a 17HP gain. What BS! Sounds like most of them don't even fit right. We should make a "Scam" thread and put them in there. Sorry about your misfortune but thanks for saving me some money.
