Crack in paint questions?
I posted a question about it several weeks ago. Trace, a Lightning owner and body shop employee, said that Ford uses a "caulking" material to seal the gutters. Sometimes, the paint sprayed over this soft(er) material will crack. She said that there was no danger of rust (because of no metal to air contact) and that we are probably better off leaving them be. I agree. No matter how good a body shop is, touch-ups never last like factory paint. Just my .02.

John,
Ditto on Duck01's comments. I have the same cracking, went to a trusted body guy who stated the exact same. Told me that the fix is to run a tiny bead of clear silicone sealant if ya absolutely can't live w/it, however, he advised against it saying that there is no danger of rust and thae silicone might hold dirt or cloud over time.
LOL

I was washing my truck the other day and on the roof in the rain gutter things I have a crack in the paint on both sides. The one on the drivers side is almost the lenght of the roof. The one on the passenger side gutter is about 6 inches. Does anyone else have these and if so what have you done about it?
Thanks
John
