your better off not using Whipples instructions.. when i installed my Whipple, the instructions that came with it were not very understandable.. it was more confusing to read and then try to accomplish what it is they wanted.. if nobody here can help try JDM they should have the instructions to fax to you.. i took mine and ripped it in half then proceeded witht he installation with ease.. if i still had mine i would be more then glad to fax it over to you.. goodluck with your install...

Like hostile said, the original instructions were poor at best. They have revised the instructions several times and they have improved greatly and are almost usable now,

If you pm me your email address, I will email the instructions to you (26 pages).

Did you put your snout brace on first before putting on the blower?

No, they came out with the brace after mine was installed. It's very easy to install the brace with the blower on the truck.

the brace should be installed after the blower is on it is easier to install the blower as the thing is about 80lbs. and is a pain in the *** to set it in gently..lol.. if you dont have the snout brace, you can contact Whipple and tell them that you have an earlier setup and they will ship you the brace free of charge...

Yes. Use a thin coat so you will be able to remove it in the future.

Make sure that both faces are clean.
Apply a very thin film of RTV
Use the gasket supplied

Use some silicone lubricant on the rear bypass 'O' rings
And make sure the bypass opens on vacuum

The back two of four bolts are PITA to tighten up
Not sure how your expected to torque them up.

The rear one on drivers side needed a little work with a Dremel to give enough clearance for the head of the bolt.

I love my Whipple - 20lbs using an 8lb lower & 3.375 upper

Did you get the racer kit? Any tips on the rear intercooler lines, do you change out the 90 degree elbows on the racer kit? Thanks!

Check post #19 for the solution to the tighten/torque problem.

One other tip. Unless your hands are very tiny, you neeed to put the vacuum lines on the back of the blower on before you set it in place.

Yeah I did.

I used the new rubber 90 deg hoses and the stock pipes.
Spacers supplied with kit to support the stock pipes.
Just a little slight bending required - only a little.

Ditched the steel hose clamps in favour of stainless worm drive clamps.
Fitted rear lower intake vac hose before mounting Whipple.
All other vac lines are on side of intake

Plug change is ok as no EGR.
Just slacken off the fuel rail on drivers side a little.
IAC valve stays put.
Remove the intake from throttle body to give better working room.

The whole set up looks neat and better than factory.

Just extended the electrics for IAC and TPS to look like stock loom.

First Whipple Powered Lightning in the UK
First JDM Aluminium built motor Lightning in the UK

I just need that elusive 10 sec pass. All boost

Thanks for your help guys! I guess Im missing one of the 90 degree elbows for the intercooler lines. Do you do anything with the power steering lines on the racer kit?

I made up a bracket to mount the power steering fluid tank onto the fan shroud half way down.
It's a strong fan shrould and have no issues with the support, I just cut a short piece off the hoses and re-clamped them.

Easy to get to for level check and no issues with the position.
