Mine is the 1st gen(read lighter) version. The new ones are better in every way accept that they added sooo much weight. Some weigh over 4000lbs;that's as much as a 1st gen Lightning for crying out loud! I do think Chrysler had the right idea by offering a cheaper but slower version of a performance truck. IMO, it should have been a solid 14 sec performer,not a 14.90 with a great driver on a perfect day with a full moon out.
The comment made about RT owners can be understood when you understand Mopar fanatics. Every brand has it's diehards,but some of these Mopar guys scare even me. It has become a religion to some,almost cultlike. At some of these events I begin to wonder when Jim Jones is going to show up with the grape Kool Aide. LOL. The name mother Mopar didn't happen by accident you know.
I'm a member of many different billboards. I like all things fast,except rice. The new Lightning is a knockout. I was stunned Ford would make it that fast. I figured it would probably run high 14s. My only grievance would be the weight issue. I would love to see a weight loss of about 500lbs.

whats your point? the 2nd gen Ls weigh 4600 lbs. i don't see them losing any races.

Why are you so scared of a ZERO punch? Last time I checked that's how people were drag racing.

What does your truck run in the 30 to 120? What is a good time for that? This is gonna be tough since we are running from MPH to MPH now rather than distance.

Who cares who is faster after the 1/4 mile? The race is over. Illegal street racing from a roll always leads to higher finishing speeds. As the speeds get higher, ticket fines get higher, the splat you make gets bigger, and the chance that you are gonna get taken away from the ones you love increase. I value people alot more than trucks, besides - this is all just a hobby for me. I'm really starting to get tired of street racing - just not worth it.

I like all trucks. We are all just having fun - Ignore my screen name, I don't care anymore. There is always someone faster (usually a mustang ) Let's just all give compliments/respect and when there is an argument - just argue your side without calling names and back up points with facts.
