Meiwah98...I also saw that posting that said it was a different part # and it cost more. Are all thes IC problems on L's that have Mods done to them? Sure hope SVT fixes this problem cause I sure want one of these bad boys. This will be my first Ford truck and I sure dont like hanging out at the dealer!

Cool

Doug -

Ask for Brian when you get to Bankston. I took my truck there and had the 3.73s and intercooler done at the same time. I left my chipenfilter on and told him about my modifications. He wrote in large letters on the work sheet "HAS A CHIP!", but no problem with the service or warranty. I have been very pleased with Bankston to this point. I think if you'll be up front with them, you won't have a problem. Everyone on this board knows that there have been problems with the intercoolers on stock and modified Lightnings alike. They had my fixed and ready to go in three days. Good luck.

You have Mail

I already took out the Fictitious Chipenfilter. Since it was raining I had nothing else to do. In the rain the Chipenfilter is just overkill, I have traction problems in the dry.

Brian is no longer at Bankston. It hasnt lost any more coolant since my discovery a couple days ago. I just wanted to get the problem listed in thier records prior to the 12,000 mile barrier, since it was going in anyway.

Well They replaced the muffler which solved the rattle, but all they did was top off the coolant in the intercooler. I figured it wasnt leaking enough yet to get thier attention. Poor service writer didnt even know that leaks were a problem in Lightnings. He did say it was covered unde rthe 3/36 warranty. Ill keep watching it till it gets worse and bring it back. Thanks for all your suggestions and support guys...

Topcat,

How are you doing?

Tell Tim D. that I'll be bringing mine in for the IC soon.

It started leaking last week after the drive out to New Jersey.

Thumbs up

Hey everyone (especially Gordo): Got the Bolt back as promised - all work completed - one day. The only thing I didn't do was ask to see the defective IC and plugs. Will try and do that tomorrow.

Thumbs down

Mine is in today getting the IC, plugs, sensors, replaced. Leak started around 12.5/13K miles and got progressively worse. Was told I'll have it back today (KOW). Good luck to everyone else with this problem.
